The Best Sequels in Movie History

Terminator 2 i definately agree with, but others like spider-man 2, i enjoyed the first more

ESB, The Godfather part II, T2, Bourne Ultimatum, Rambo, ROTK (although, the ending was indeed too long), X2, Superman 2, Silence of the Lambs... great stuff there :woot:

I wouldnt say i enjoyed them more than the first in all cases though, but i enjoyed these :)

So glad they didn't put KOTCS on the list.

BTW, love this shot:

Rush Hour 2 is also one of the best sequels, imo.

They thought "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" was better than the first one? And they really thought "Live and Let Die" was better than the Connery Bond films? Are they stupid?

And I'm sick of "Godfather II" being hailed as "better than the first". Brando and James Caan weren't in it, which gives the edge to the first movie (Caan's two minute cameo doesn't count).

But I'll agree with the rest, especially "T2", "The Empire Strikes Back", "Return of the King", "Aliens", "Spider-Man 2" and "X2".

I'm sure "The Dark Knight" will be a part of those ranks come July.

I honestly thought Robert Dinero was much better as a young Vito.

Harold and Kumar movies are the crappiest films i have ever seen.

Of all the James Bond sequels they picked Live and Let Die? I agree that Dr. No is far from the best in the franchise, but Moore himself was in 3 better flicks.

That list is defective. They left off The Dark Knight.

Was the Silence of the Lambs really a sequel? I dont really consider Manhunter a part of the saga, thus I would think of SotL as the first.

Anyway, pretty solid list. But I dont think that Toy Story 2, Superman II, or Live and Let Die were better than the originals.

You haven't seen very many, apparently.

Disclaimer: the following post is that of opinions and opinions only

I've seen both, and in my opinion they are horrid.

and i don't know why the squeal to Bill and Ted is on there...because in my opinion it wasn't very good.

sorry if i offended anyone...

Boy, you just keep spouting your bad taste with every post.

I almost thought you were being serious. Good joke.

That's a tricky one, because technically it is (or at least was) a sequel. It is the second movie, chronologically, with Hannibal Lecter (or "Hannibal Lecktor" in Manhunter). The only difference is that there are two different actors portraying Hannibal. Even with that, it is not a problem for it is just a recast, but when Red Dragon came out, there was a problem. Since that movie was a remake of Manhunter, and had Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, some ignore Manhunter as part of the saga. However, since nobody has come out and set in stone what is what, and since chronologically, Red Dragon can't really be considered a reboot, I believe that it can work both ways. The Silence of the Lambs can be a sequel to Red Dragon or Manhunter.

Anyway, pretty solid list. But I dont think that Toy Story 2, Superman II, or Live and Let Die were better than the originals.

You liked Dr. No better than Live or Let Die? :csad:

Saying that Live and Let Die is the best bond sequel in movie history, means it's better than From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Casino Royale, Goldeneye etc... Which are all clearly better.

Lay off the crackpipe. Dr. No was the best Bond film. At the very least, its top 3.

And, no, I wasnt joking. TDK WILL be the best sequel ever. The list is defective for the very fact that they have not forseen this.

Well, they haven't seen it, so they can't make an accurate list by guessing. No matter how accurate the guess is.
