Best & Worst Sequels of All Time

the matrix sequels might pale in comparison to the original, but honestly, what movie doesn't? they may be "bad" sequels, bit were hardly bad movies, and still better to this day than 90% of the crap out there.

and since when was ghostbusters II a bad sequel?

I know that's what i'm saying.

Sorry, but the general consensus among msot people is that, while not an overall bad movies, Ghostbusters II is way below the level of the original. It was just a very uninspired sequel, and nowhere near as good as the first.

Yeah, Ghostbusters 2 was fun .... but GB1 was classic.

For me the success of movies in general comes from repeat viewing.

I would be happy to slap on my Ghostbusters 1 DVD at any time ... I never tire of watching it. GB2 I haven't seen in years.

I don;t think ive seen all of GBII:confused:
Matrix Reloaded was good IMO but i hated Revolutions

I forgot to add this little gem to my atrocities list:

Basic Instinct 2.

Die Hard 2 leaves a bad taste in my mouth ...

Everyone (most of them low life cur’n nitwits) hates Batman and Robin!
But I simply love it
So I’d really like to see a new Batman and robin TV series
Based on that movie

In fact I feel like watching it right now
I just love it and it's no joke

The best cast ever
The only problem is that Mr. Freeze looks more like X Men villain apocalypse than
The TV or comic book Mr Freeze

Predator was good Predator 2 :down
It wasn't that bad
By the way I love Batman vs. predator
Even if it was only in a comic book

I also really like the movie alien vs. predator

Have you guys notice in superman vs. terminator
That superman kind of resemble Arnold Schwarzenegger
"Sadly another comic book”

Blade: Trinity's not that bad.

Well, I guess it wasn't that bad, but it did have 1000 different types of crap in it.

Mine too. It wasn't terrible, but it's nowhere good as the first or third one.

I'm not the hugest fan of X-3 but c'mon Batman and Robin, Dumb and Dumberer, Son of the Mask, Jaws, the Nightmares, Halloweens, 13ths, Superbabies (sequels) are all far worse.

if you didn't dig X3, that's one thing, but, worst sequel ever? please, guy, grow up.

i think it was awful. i shall now defend my opinion:
it was made purely to spite singer to leave for SR.
It lacked a second act. thus the story was incomplete and rushed.
It came in under two hours.
Characters were introduced for no particular reason. like ANgel...he could have been any flying mutant.
There was an oppourtunity for all 5 originalx-men to share screen time. that was wasted.

and the big purple elephant....it was a travesty the way they replacedcyclops with wolverine in the end. this was supposed to be X-men 3....Wolverine comes out in a few years.

Obviously i am allowed my opinion. these are the reasons i think it was the worst sequel ever. and i'm pretty grown up already.

nowif they make howard the duck 2, maybe ill change my opinion.

2

Rocky 5 .....

The ONLY movie I have left early after paying for my ticket.

howard the duck was awesome.

and i'm sorry, defend all you want, but X3 is far, far, far, far, far, from the worst sequel ever. no matter how big of a dump it took on your precious comics, there are so much worse movies out there. X3 was anything but a bad movie.

More worst sequels (in some cases more of the same) in no particular order:

1) Blues Brothers 2000
2) Men In Black II
3) Terminator 3: Rise of the machines
4) Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets (granted, "Chamber" is easily the crappiest book of that series)
5) Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome
6) Robocop 2
7) Robocop 3 (at least Robo 2 had some good shootouts)
8) Highlander II: The Quickening
9) Superman III
10) Die Another Day
11) Batman & Robin

Have you even seen any of the Friday the 13th sequels? :o

Mannequin 2? House of the Dead 2? Son of the Mask?

There are FAR worse sequels than X3...

thank you...

... troll 2, anyone? better than x3? psh! hate the story all you want, at the very least it had cool action, so it's automatically better than alot of the crap sequels out there.

Indeed.

X3 is not even close to being 'bad' ... or the worst.

Many feel it did not do the characters justice but its still a short, sharp highly enjoyable movie
