Director Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World, Safety Not Guaranteed) has debuted the new poster for The Book of Henry ahead of the trailer launch tomorrow.

Sometimes things are not always what they seem, especially in the small suburban town where the Carpenter family lives. Single suburban mother Susan Carpenter (Naomi Watts) works as a waitress at a diner, alongside feisty family friend Sheila (Sarah Silverman). Her younger son Peter (Jacob Tremblay) is a playful 8-year-old. Taking care of everyone and everything in his own unique way is Susan’s older son Henry (Jaeden Lieberher), age 12, whose creativity is without limits. Protector to his adoring younger brother and tireless supporter of his often self-doubting mother – and, through investments, of the family as a whole – Henry blazes through the days like a comet. Susan discovers that the family next door, which includes Henry’s kind classmate, 12-year-old Christina (Maddie Ziegler), has a dangerous secret – and that Henry has devised a surprising plan to help. As his brainstormed rescue plan for Christina takes shape in thrilling ways, Susan finds herself at the center of it.

That looks gorgeous

This looks interesting. I still haven't seen Safety yet to get a full opinion on Trevorrow but he's a guy who knows what he wants and can execute that.

There is a real '80's vibe to this, particularly the poster, it practically screams 1984. Looks good, don't know anything, haven't heard jot about it, but would be very interested to see it.

Safety Not Guaranteed is good stuff. It definitely shows his directing skill better than JW.

It would be messed up if Hank was actually innocent in all of this and the step daughter just wanted him dead.

Wha... that trailer did not go where I thought it would.

Until yesterday I'd not heard about this movie, after seeing that trailer it's now one of the movies I most want to see this year. It really does have that 80's feel but with it's own twist.

Yeah looks good. The rumblings with the trades last year were pretty positive. So fingers crossed.

I'm just looking for a reason to be optimistic about Trevorrow directing Ep.9

(Didn't like Safety Not Guaranteed and found Jurassic World really underwhelming)

Jurassic World was underwhelming but I really liked Safety. That and with Kathy and co. I'm not too worried.

Yeah, for once it's not a nostalgia trip.

Well, that certainly wasn't the kind of story I was expecting this would be about.

T'was a tad precious to start with and then swerved. Not sure about many aspects just from the trailer. Not sure how aforementioned preciousness and some other problematic stuff I saw will mesh together.

Is Henry supposed to be dead?

Is Henry supposed to be dead?

What gave you that impression from the trailer?

[BLACKOUT]Though that would make sense as to that moment with the younger brother and the mother looking at that page saying there's no other way to stop the abuse.[/BLACKOUT]

I was sorta paying attention and then the trailer took a turn and I was just, "Uh, what?" and forgot that Henry was mostly doing voiceover rather than being seen.

Anyway, should be interesting how the general audience will want to see such a film or not.

according to people who have read the screenplay
Henry has the perfect plan to murder Dean Norris's character, but he suddenly develops a brain tumor and passes away and his dying wish is for his mom to carry out his plan.Supposedly the screenplay is very light-hearted compared to the trailer.

This whole thing sounds wild.

Seems strange as hell, but hey.

This better be good, or I am storming LF. :o
