because when buffy called her on it she tryed to hide that she boned giles, she knew what happened as did everyone else.

no they didn't, they just started to act like teens. like buffys mom hiding the booze at giles from buffy or when she tells him that she feels like being a mom was just a dream and that she just woke up.
