    Both sides are pissed...

Religious orgs are pissed because it touts alternatives to their beliefs

Atheists are pissed because it's a watered down version of the original store line.

Perhaps they should all meet somewhere to discuss it...then we can firebomb the whole damn building.

Do you not believe or follow any religion...or do you not believe in god (or a god)? There's a difference.

I don't believe in or follow any type of religion, weather your Catholic/Jewish/Buddhist w/e i don't care thats all up to you thats how you were raised and taught to believe..

I don't believe in a god, but I'm not denying the fact that one could exist.

That makes you an agnostic, not an atheist.

I don't get it. How can reading a fictional book change someone's religion?

    Oh wait...

Yea i was thinking that, but it says in the definition of atheism that they have an absence of belief in deities.

i don't believe in them, but there could be.

but you guys would know more, so i guess i am an agnostic.

id rather my kids in the library reading the golden compass, than hanging out with some 'religious' priest that may or may not (because who the **** can tell anymore) enjoy touching young kids.

What a miserable existence, the life of a Christian, built upon such a flimsy, delicate fantasy. How miserable.

God I wish the world could break free of this crap. :(

Everybody's too sensitive today and this PC stuff is also ridiculous.

Either it's religion, sexism, or racism, people need to lighten up.

When I first heard about the film I was excited, but now I'm afraid it's just going to ruin one of my favorite trilogies ever :csad:

It's called "soft atheism", which is just basically the same thing as agnostic.

I wouldn't consider agnosticism "soft atheism."

This thread is obviously intended to be a discussion on religion, but the same damn discussion/argument/debate/whatever gets old fast. :down

I'll be seeing this film when it releases. So what if it is indeed "selling atheism to kids"? Do kids really go to movies to look for religious message or to bring them closer to/further from God? Why do Christians (like the ones in the article) have to feel threatened? I don't get it.
