I know some people are going to say the score was the least of their complants but man was the score awful, only the recyled Elfman score was good because it, I don't know...fit. I absolutely can't believe how bad the music was in this movie. The second Harry and Peter fight wasn't ever going to be good but whats up with that 1930's ganster music?

It was like Goldenthal doing the villiains music for Schumacher.

I only remember the Sandman theme. And it is bad

Eh, it was just the same music from the other movies. I was hoping for something different. For the big moments in the movie, I was hoping for new music. Instead, the same ole theme songs.

So the music throughout the whole movie was new? LMAO!

I barely paid attention to the scores this time around. I was too hypnotized with just being happy watching the movie. I'll probably notice some other day I watch it but with the opening credits, it wasn't bad.

I didn't care for Young's score. The leftover contributions from Elfman were good (like they were in the first two films), but the pieces that Young composed solely were largely forgettable.

The music that played when Peter gets the symbiote and is hanging upside down was horrid.

It was horrible. Even the way he cut and pasted Elfman's main theme came off like a hack job. Sandman's music made me want to blow my brains out.

Outside Elfman's there was one score I liked; the three horns one for the Black Suit.

Ok I think the score was the weakest of the three. But you are TRULY beginning to tick me off. You've only recently started posting on this board and have just ripped the film apart likening it to far worse films.

It may very well be your opinion, which is fair enough. It is just the ridiculous manner in which you try and get it across.

I loved the symbiotes theme, and the Harry Vs Peter music. The themes for this one aren't as memorable as the previous two but they were ok.

I didn't think it was awful. Don't really remember it.

First thing that came to my mind when I saw this thread. Man, it was so inappropriate. They should've left it silent.

Sandman's theme was hilariously bad.

The music during the mansion battle was AWESOME! I loved it!!

It not's AWFUL, but it certainly is weak compared to Elfman.

I don't know the circumstances behind the conflict, but I wish that Elfman had stayed. I can only imagine what type of theme he would have done for Venom ...

Who gives a toss about the music?....you guys are just being pathetically pedantic. Music is music and its not as though it was recognised to spoil the movie in anyway.

the symbiote theme reminded me of the Casino Royale theme for some reason

I started this thread because Music in films are impportant to me, very important...bad music ticks me off! Bad music does harm movies period.

I give a toss because Christopher Young's music was so bad it actually brought the movie down at some moments imo. Remember when Spidey woke up after the transformation? The Harry/emo Peter fight? Elfman's themes actually helped dramatize certain sequences in the first two movies such as when Peter was running on top of the building trying to get his powers back and when Peter was waiting for MJ outside of the theatre in 2.

Music is very important to a major film.

Think of Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones, etc. Great movies along with amazing scores.

Even today, I thought Batman Begins and Pirates are very well done. The score for 300 is simply brillant and emotional and powerful.

The music for Spider-Man 3 was non-existant, along with half the movie.

Come back after you've had the pleasure of watching an unscored rough cut of a film or dailies and see if you still don't think that music can make or break a film.

youngs score was the best of the three, i didn't like the jazzy stuff or the peter harry fight music, but the first time peter and harry fight in the streets, that is by far the best track on all the scores. and the music where peter is ripping off the symbiote, great. i'm actually looking forward to buying the score

Ok I appreciate your feelings for the imporatnce of music.

The music didn't bother me. It felt and sounded like a natural and well-fitted part of the making of the movie.
