Christopher Young: The Good Music

I totally agree with what you said about the intro music when it switches to Young's stuff. I just mean that hearing the symbiote theme there helped me appreciate it later. Its dumb b-movie music but I like it. And I have a girlfriend, I think I would know whats cool and what isnt.

Does anyone know if the score is out yet?

According to Dom, the guy who runs Christopher Young's official web site, there WILL be a CD release of the score. He adds that the CD won't be out before the DVD release (which is October or November), so we'll probably get it by the end of this year. I suspect the reasons for this delay is as to what portions will be included (and legal complications)... Dom says he hopes that Young's rejected love theme will be included on the CD, but there's no certainty as to when the CD will be released or what it will have yet.

But rest assured, those of you who loved Young's score will get the chance to own it.

If an official soundtrack isn't released, then surely a bootleg version of the score will eventually find its way online, much like Young's music for Spider-Man 2 has been available (if you know where to look).

Can you tell me where to look? :cwink:

The only music I really didn't like was the Dark Peter vs. Harry music...I felt he could have either recycled one of Elfman's tunes or used the Symbiote theme on a lighter, less dramatic scale for that fight.

The Symbiote theme (duh duh duh DUH DUH) was awful in my opinion. It was especially bad in the scene where Pete wakes up and is hanging upside down in the black suit. It felt so out of place and took you out of the scene. I did like the bell tower music though. I wish it was a little more noticeable though.

It was a little over the top but in that scene I thought it worked well, at least, I thought it worked really well when he looked at his reflection and said "What is this?" with the music in the background. It just clicked.
