hi,
Not sure where this subject belongs. Just had a simple question and I tried finding on the internet.
I know for most part the Crow franchise is dead in the water and shows no signs of ever returning. I was trying to find out who owns the rights of the movie. I read somewhere that Disney owned the rights of it,but I wasn't sure if that was just old news. I emaild Disney today,so I'm hopin sometime next week(or if at all) to hear something.
Shame was hopin they would ressurrect the franchise by using a female crow(Iris version from comics), or maybe a martial arts type version(using tony jaa or guy from matrix). Thought there was some time table on when rights go back to original owner? I guess it depends on how the contracts were worked out....
All this got me goin when I was watching some of the Bruce Lee marathon on spike tv(I think),and saw Lee's daughter...
anywho.....

I doubt they will make the fourth of the Crow.

The Crow: Wicked Prayer was a train wreck. Worst movie ever.

Far as I'm concerned, the Crow franchise died with Brandon Lee.

Wicked Prayer WAS the Fourth...unless you are meaning fourth sequel

I loved The Crow, I like The Crow: City Of Angels but I want to see the TRUE version, the PPV cut that never had an official VHS or DVD release, and watching The Crow: Wicked Prayer made me realize how much I like The Crow: Salvation.

Wicked Prayer was a disgrace. IMO the original and City of Angels are the best. I hope they bring back the franchise with a feel closer to the original. And yes, do a female Crow for a change (Iris). Keep the franchise new and interesting. I would also love to see the "Dead Time" story brought into film.

You know I remember I used to read a lot of Crow fan fictions, needless to say there are a lot of great stories and talented writers out there. A couple of stories that I remembered reading involving a female Crow(who was bi-racial) coming back from the dead to avenge the death of her husband, her daughter, and get revenge on the Neo-Nazi/KKK unit.

Another involved a teenager killed by some ruthless bullies at school and he returns from the dead to avenge him, the girl he fell in love with, and so forth.

I think the problem with The Crow now is that there isn't any sort of originality anymore. It's all the same story. After Brandon Lee passed away in a tragic fashion they should've started making Crow films that weren't made to surpass Brandon.

The scary thing I noticed in City of Angels is that there were shots where Vincent looked exactly like Brandon. Mainly the shot of him after he jumps into the water to bring out his son and bury him.

I noticed that myself.

So has anyone seen the COA pay-per-view cut? I haven't but I've heard it's much better than the theatrical and that so-called 'director's cut'.

That just seems like the Flesh and Blood Crow story. Only they killed the husband.

Yawn. Just setting it in a high school doesn't change the fact that it is just the same story of the original, the movie, the sequel, the second sequel... etc. And playing up on the 'emo' factor of the Crow story by setting in high school would ruin the story.

Exactly. Every story of the Crow just comes out as a retread of the first one, or the first one with a jumble of different hero and different motivations of the bad guys.

The scary thing I noticed in City of Angels is that there were shots where Vincent looked exactly like Brandon. Mainly the shot of him after he jumps into the water to bring out his son and bury him.

That was most likely done on purpose to get everyone to see the movie. Still was an alright movie though.
