What do you think? Could the next big project after the Avengers be a Defenders movie (with a Dr. Strange, a Sub-Mariner, maybe another Hulk movie to prepare for it)? Maybe sometime around 2015/16? Could it work? Would you like to see it?

FF and Surfer might be back in their hands by then. Throw in Valkyrie, Hellcat, and Knighthawk.

Add Gargoyle, Daimon, and Devil-Slayer in a sequel.

Classic Defenders, I don't think it will happen. The characters are too disparate and, in some ways, too individually abstract to really work in an ensemble movie (you could argue that it didn't even work well in the comic book).

Now, a modified version made up mostly of the lesser-known heroes would be interesting. We could have one high-profile classic Defender, say Dr. Strange, leading a team of Gargoyle, Hellcat, Damian Hellstrom and Valkyrie. It could be like a Gothic-themed superhero team, which I think would sell well in today's market.

I'd like to see a Defenders movie. You don't really need Silver Surfer as he didn't play all that much in the comics anyway. You just need Hulk and Dr Strange, maybe Submariner, but definitely Nighthawk, Valkyrie and Hellcat to make it actually seem like a team. Those three provide the stability whereas the others are more disparate.

If Marvel had Daredevil, he could've guest starred as well. I guess Luke Cage could too, and Black Panther.

I dont know if a Defenders movie would work on its own, but maybe if they do a epic crossover film like Infinity Gauntlet down the road after a bunch of the solo films are released they could do a subplot that teams up Dr. Strange, Hulk, Namor, and Valkyrie. Maybe that could lead to enough interest to support a film. Thats just one way to maybe do it, but I think the best shot at it working would be to piggyback it on to something.

sure, why not.. but you'd have to get the Silver Surfer from out of Fox's control (and possibly, Namor is still attached to Universal).. get Uncle Walt to pay off Uncle Rupert and clear the way..

You really don't need Silver Surfer to make this work. He hardly played at all in the original series. He was barely in any issues. Marvel already have all the characters they need.
