WEIRD WORLDS #1 (OF 6) $3.99 - (Yippee! The only DC $3.99 comic of the week. What a beautiful sight! Not sure if I'll even pick this up; but, I'll give it a glance at my lcs.)

IMAGE COMICS

X-FACTOR #213 $2.99
ANT-MAN & WASP #3 (OF 3) $3.99

I'm only adding those two Maybes in there because of how small the week is. I skipped A&W's second issue but with how small it is I may pick it up and this one, OR I may get caught up on X-Factor, which I'm 2 issues behind due to dropping before adding this issue on top of it. Likely, I'll get A&W since I'm trying to drop titles and that's only a limited series. That's if I even try to do anything with either of these.

As for the others, who knows how Brightest Day will be. It's the most inconsistent book out there. The other two though, I'm super stoked about!

WHO IS JAKE ELLIS? #1 $2.99

Heh, this struck me as funny because coincidentally Jake and Ellis are the two male leads in the book I just finished writing :)

BILLY THE KID GHASTLY FIEND LONDON #4 ERIC POWELL CVR $3.99- This has been fun but I'm really missing The Goon
DOOM PATROL #18 $2.99
IZOMBIE #9 (MR) $2.99
SUPERBOY #3 $2.99
SWEET TOOTH #17 (MR) $2.99
CHOKER #5 (OF 6) (MR) $3.99
WHO IS JAKE ELLIS? #1
ULTIMATE COMICS CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 (OF 4) $3.99- Probably wait for the trade.

Good week

BILLY THE KID GHASTLY FIEND LONDON #4 ERIC POWELL CVR $3.99 - loving this series. Issue 3 implied the existence of Dracula, which I really loved and would even hope to see a Billy The Kid vs Dracula series, but who knows if that'll happen. And the Goon back-up has been wonderful. I really hope Powell kicks The Goon into full-gear in the new year.

IZOMBIE #9 (MR) $2.99

Incredibly small week. From here on to March sometime, I don't think my pull-list exceeds more than 5 titles in any given week.

You guys do know that the Diamond list is missing some books , right ? For example, Fantastic Four Resurrection of Galactus and Mighty Thor Omnibus vol. 1

MARVEL COMICS
AVENGERS PRIME #5 (OF 5) $3.99

Incredibly small week, thanks Tron. Glad AP is ending. I've been enjoying it, but this bi-monthly schedule sucks. Happy to finally read the conclusion. Although, now that I think about it, wasn't this supposed to be how the Big 3 put their differences aside and decide to work together again? They had a little argument in issue 1, were separated for 3 more issues and then they will magically become BFFs in the final issue. Ah, Bendis. Way to go buddy.

Prime would've been better as the first arc of Avengers instead of the Kang/Ultron crapola.

ANT-MAN & WASP #3
AVENGERS: THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE #4
THANOS IMPERATIVE: DEVASTATION #1

Short week; even shorter than the last week of 2010, where I only get four comics. I think that Thanos Imperative epilogue one shot ran behind schedule; I don't think it was originally solicited to ship in 2011. Granted, it'll only miss 2010 by a week, so it isn't so bad.

Looks to be an okay week to kick off the new year, and my wallet will appreciate it!

I just wanted to jump on here and say THANKS to everyone who's pulled WHO IS JAKE ELLIS?

If you're in any of the southern states, look for me on my upcoming JAKE ELLIS IS EVERYWHERE signing tour. I'll fly to LA where I'll sign on the 13th or so and then drive cross-country to ATL for the finale. If you're anywhere in between, I hope to see you there!

(news on twitter: @nhedmondson)

Thanks and keep reading--

oh, and JewishHobbit--good luck with the book. You obviously have good taste in character names ;)

Well, it seems I have to add Jake Ellis to my list. Any writer or artists who takes their time to come on The Hype, I'll always try to support.

EDIT: Even better, the price is really reasonable! Did Image decide to lower their prices because of DC comics doing it, too??

No, there prices have just been like that. They've had a mix of $2.99, $3.50 and $3.99 tags for awhile now.

You know, that preview for John Ellis does look pretty good. If my shop has it I'll give it a shot. Helps having a first issue arrive during a week so light it's almost not worth going to the comic shop
