The Dr. Strange Thread

I'm so excited that we get to see the good Doctor again before Infinity War, I absolutely love Cumberbatch in the role. :chd:

This makes up more than 50 % of the reasons for me to see this, tbh.

(Jk. I'd watch this regardless. But it increases my hype by at least 50 %.)

Doctor Strange presence is just the tip of the iceberg. A welcome addition for sure...
But this movie has so much more to offer that it's just crazy thinking about it.

As much as people want Dr. Strange to play a major part, I still think it'll be an extended cameo that helps Thor ultimately get back to Asgard so he can save the day.

Just watched the end credits scene with Strange and Thor again, I think we might already have seen most of his appearance in Ragnarok.
My guess is that he will do a spell to locate Odin, and maybe transport them to his general location, and that is pretty much it.
Would love to be wrong, though ;)

I don't think the scene is near the end when he saves the day. Thor has long hair in that scene.

I am guessing this is after the hammer gets destroyed. I agree Strange won't have some major part to play.

Yeah I don't see Strange going on the adventure with Thor on Sakaar. He probably has 5 minutes at most in the film, but it should still be great.

Haha, maybe he sends Thor to Sakaar to teach him something :D

(I know this won't be the case, but funny to think)

I'm not getting my hopes up too much for loads of Doctor Strange, but the official D23 description for the movie was:

“Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new.”

When it turns out "Destiny" is a cute girl at a pub and not an abstract concept, it'll change everything.

spoiler alert.

Loved their chemistry plus having Stephen with Loki is genius. I would have loved more actually!

I enjoyed Doctor Strange's inclusion as well.

The good Doctor has grown even more powerful then when last saw him. Loki looked like an amateur!

Well all Loki did was run at Doctor Strange with knives it's not like they had some kind of magical duel.

I was thinking making him seemingly fall down a portal over and over again until he felt like letting him go. Made me think Loki couldn't do anything to him if he really tried. That could be a cool thing to go back to in One of the upcoming Avengers flicks.

Well he did get the drop on Loki when he and Thor were talking in New York.

Think of it as a sucker punch, but yeah MCU Loki isn't even impressive magically.

A nice cameo for Strange! Would have loved to see him more involved, but he wasn't as involved in the story so I think they made the right decision. Can't wait for them to meet up again next year!

I think that for us, the fans, it was a nice cameo. And it had one of the best punchlines in the “I’ve been falling for half an hour” gag. But strictly from a narrative point of view it served no real purpose and could have been excised with little fuss. It felt kind of like a dvd extra that got left in.

Again, not saying it was a bad bit, but as someone who felt Ragnarok ran a bit long, I wouldn’t have missed this scene if it had been relegated to the extras bin.
