The Eggs Of Watchmen

Just saw it again.
Also on Ozy's monitors is some depiction of the Crucifixion (maybe Last Temptation of Christ) and the old "Where's the beef" Wendy's commercial.

You know what's weird, I don't like burgers, but now I want one. That's effective advertising.

I think the Batman poster in the background is a heads up for people to look closer to their surroundings. Like they want people to know its Batman's parents in the background.

but it's not logical for them to be batmans parents. The main reason for this is if batmans parents were still alive there wouldn't be a batman so the posters wouldn't be there. Plus Alan Moore wrote this as superheroes in the real world where the characters can read the comics (nite owl I did read a superman comic in the graphic novel)

Sorry about that, rant over.

maybe this was in the comic, i dont remember the exact frame and im too lazy to look it up now, but following the scene with Laurie and Dan in the basement where he shows her his goggles, they have their little failed love scene. As they begin to kiss, they are seen through dan's spectacles lying on the table. Forgot if it was in the comic, but regardless, this is nice juxtaposition.

EDIT: Just checked the comic becuase I was too curious. It's NOT in the comic. So, pat on Snyder's back for some great subtlety.

Do you find a big, blue, glowing, naked man logical?

The people at the theatre were NOT the Waynes.
1. There are Batman posters on the wall - If these people were the Waynes, why would posters of the cover of a Batman comic be on the wall?
2. There are Batman posters on the wall - In the Watchmen universe Batman (and Superman) exist like they do in our world - as comic book characters.
3. Gotham used to be a term for New York, so having the theatre called "Gotham Theatre" does not mean these are the Waynes.

That's clearly supposed to be a nod to Thomas and Martha Wayne, Alfred, and Batman. I doubt it's supposed to be the ACTUAL Waynes, but it's clearly some version of them.

Something I just noticed:

When Jon and Janey are making love for the first time, they zoom in on Jon's watch on top of the Holy Bible, in which he says "A month from now, the accident awaits me." Could the Bible have been used to symbolize that the time is slowly ticking until Jon is turned into a God? Or am I overanalyzing?

Your not alone. I also thought this was a symbolic way of foreshadowing Jon's eventual transformation into a god like being. Hopefully were not overlooking things here.

Maybe instead of the Waynes, it's the Dreibergs coming out of the theatre. Hmmm?:woot:

That could make sense! Thats the reason Dan idolized Hollis so much and wanted to be just like him. It all makes sense now!

Dan wasn't born until '45. So that picture would have to be from at least '51, most likely '53. But was most likely from '39 or '40.

Time line FAIL.

Fun to think about though.

caught something interesting when i saw it in imax this weekend. At the end when all of them are discussing adrian's plan, if you look in nit owls goggles you can see teh reflection of crudup in the LED suit instead of manhattan

So he'll turn black eventually?
LOL.
i think the message here is that Batamn is fictional (hence the showing of posters) and that nite owl is doing the real thing . i don't think he is preventing the wayne's death although that would of been a really cool concept but then they'd have to figure out a way to write off superman.

Maybe Dr. Manhattan somehow stops Supes' planet from being destroyed. :woot:

something I've noticed on the second viewing, and it cracked me up! :funny:
while N.Armstrong on the moon(and Dr.Manhattan reflected on his helmet), Armstrong says good luck to his neighbour...:woot:

The story goes as the neighbour asks his wife to perform oral sex, and the wife refuses it saying "I'd do it, if the boy next door went to the moon...". Well the boy next door happens to be Neil Armstrong...

Was Comedian looking at the camera when Sally went to go change..? :hehe:

And I'm pretty sure the first asian guy that rushes Dan & Laurie in the prison was also the last inmate they subdued. Like he got back up and ran around the prison to get beatdown once more :hehe:

He was looking back at the rest of the Minutemen as they were leaving. Kind of a mischievous glance back to make sure no one would see him enter the room where Sally was changing.
