The Rise of Skywalker The Emperor

Is his spirit or something possibly residing in some sort of temple?!

Like a Google hangout for Siths? :funny:

I said this in the main thread, but someone pointed out that the structure at the end is remains of the Death Star, so it could be he's some sort of force entity inside it or something.

I didn't care for TLJ, but it's funny how it seems like this trailer is a response to that movie. Kylo fixing his helmet after throwing it away. The title implying that Rey may be a Skywalker after all. The return of the Emperor now that Snoke is gone so there is a big bad.

I personally liked TLJ, but I love that JJ is finishing this off. This movie is going to be MASSIVE!

Well I'm at least more intrigued than I was before, especially on how they are going to handle his return.

I think I made the comment long long ago that the Emperor would be back (after some tidbits I heard) and every one brushed it off. Well well well...

If the main man does show up again, can we get the makeup back to how it looks in Return of the Jedi?

He looks like trash in Revenge of the Sith.

Frankly, this is a result of a series that has been directionless since day one. Palpatine's return is the epitome of laziness, and yet because of the position TLJ put the franchise in to win people back he's had to be included in this last movie as a draw. For all the talk of Star Wars going in new directions this sequel series has done nothing but rely entirely on the original trilogy to tell its story.

Uh huh, that is nice... we will be happy over here.

Has there been rumors about Palpatine being involved somehow?

Rebels more than implied that Palpatine may have figured out a way to come back. Its been in the cards since they've started going... weird with the Force.

It always seemed that force ghosts were exclusive to the Jedi. I'm not sure how it would work for Palpatine to come back in that way. I'm also wary of how him coming back at all will work without doing damage to the ending of the OT.

When there is a Jedi thing, there is almost always a Dark Side take.
