The Rise of Skywalker The Emperor

I'm just going to let it play out then go crazy with more theories and thib k how it can be bad or good all the way until december

One neat thing about Palpatine coming back is that Ian McDiarmid will be the one and only human/non-puppet/non-concealed-in-costume character to be played by the same actor in all three trilogies.

That is if Hayden doesn't show up.

I am definitely expecting it now. Especially with going all the way back to the prequels and the talk of young Luke as well.
I have a feeling that the Twitter shots we saw during production of a clean shaven Mark, means we are going to get some young Luke via MCU-style de-aging.

Well after Last Jedi, a lot of narrative traditions for Star Wars were basically broken.

I would like to point out that a Sith Lord in canon has already come back from the dead, by somehow infusing his helmet with his conciousness in Charles Soule's Vader comic.

Momin

I'm not gonna speculate or make up theories. That's how everyone gets into trouble and fails.

I mean, with what they have done with the Force ever since the Mortis trilogy, there are a LOT of options.

Aphra is full of it. some of my favorite Star Wars material as well.

And for those curious about a misdirect.

Oh I cannot wait

God I love Ian. Its amazing they were able to keep his involvement a secret until now.

I'm still going with Rey being a clone of Anakin with maybe some Palpatine mixed in. Maybe created by die-hard followers of his some years after his death.

My own guess is that Palpatine shows up in a flashback at the start of the movie outlining his plans for resurrection should he fall.
The rest of the film is Rey and the Resistance trying to stop Palpatines plan.

I'm guessing Palpatine is that 'threat from the Beyond' that was being rumoured. Which makes me think 'the Beyond' might be a metaphysical place, similar to the World Between Worlds in Rebels, or the Portal from Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith.

Soooo....he's been chilling in the underwater Death Star? I thought that was always a cool idea and kinda wished they went with that back in TFA.

Apparently, if you wish for things to return long enough in the SW universe,
THEY COME BACK!

Is it possible that the Emperor was force projecting himself into the throne room in Return of the Jedi? I don't know if that works, cause Vader did physically pick him up and throw him. But then Luke was able to give Leia the dice and kiss her forehead. Hmm..maybe that's just a fault of the film and being inconsistent with what you can and can't do. I guess if you can touch things but they can't that would fix the issue, but then that rules out my theory. Except then that means Leia didn't feel Luke and probably knew he was a projection. *Sigh* my brain hurts

Well, canon has shown us that Sith can outlive the death of their physical bodies by attaching their spirits to items, the drawback is they cannot truly become one with the Force, nor have the same power as Jedi Spirits. My theory is that Sidious attached his soul to the DS-2.
