The Ghost Thread

Is it illegal to spend the night in a cemetery?

my friend and i were chased by the cops one night we out ran them and managed to ge into a mausoleum . we hid out for an hour .

anyway yeah there is probably no law but im sure they will kick you out if they see you but you could keep a low profile and not be noticed.

Becuase thats where they love most or there loved ones are still livinging and they want to stay with them.

Types of hauntings

Intelligent - The entity is aware of its surroundings, including living people who are present within the area. The entity's classification can be benevolent, benign, or malevolent.

Residual - It is believed that a residual haunting occurs when an entity visits the same place and performs a repetitive act. The entity is not cognizant of any living persons who are present within the area and often times is not aware of its surroundings as we see it today. These types of hauntings typically occur after a tragic event and the repetitive acts display a portion of the event as it happened. There are times, however, that the residual act is of a mundane act the individual repeated often in life. Generally these types of entities are not considered an actual ghost, but an imprint of energy left at the location due to the tragic event.

Benevolent - A benevolent haunting is of a protective nature. It is felt that the benevolent entity is a loved one looking to protect the living people within an area in which a demon or other possibly violent entity exists. These ghosts are often found to be related to the living persons within the area, but also have been found to be closely connected to those being attacked.

Malevolent - A malevolent haunting occurs when a ghost or demon seeks to inflict harm on the living within an area. It is said that this occurs because the entity is angry for events that occurred in its life, jealous of the living, or a malicious personality in general, seeking attention, or is defensive of its home and wishes the current living persons to depart, or sad and wants others to acknowledge its sadness and to feel its misery. Poltergeist activity is often confused with a violent haunting; usually it is spirit simply seeking attention. A demon can be present if a murder existed in the area.

Benign - A benign haunting occurs when the entity is unconcerned with the living or unaware of their presence within the area. This type can also be connected to an intelligent or residual haunting.

Due to the amount of fraudulent ghost and paranormal doctored photos or faked recordings of spiritual communication, it has become increasingly difficult to produce proof of such occurrences

I know all of these cuz of Ghost hunters, Team TAPS.

great show, my fave next to heroes.

watch it on sci fi on wendsday.

So let me get this straight, do you guys assign a paranormal force to anything you can't explain? Just curious.

I love that show!!!
The live show when Elijah when he ran
scared was hilarious!

As old as things are over there, I would imagine there would be some good possibilities.

There is a lot of old places here like castles, they'd be great to check out!

Actually, there is a passage in the Old Testament that warns against consorting with the dead/witchcraft/etc. So there's my basis for believing in this stuff.

If this precipitates a debate I appologize in advance.

---Morzan

Does it say anything about the dead consorting with the living?

You would most likely run like a ninny if you saw a real ghost. They do exist, and they are beyond your understanding.

lol I'm sure I would!!!
I remember when I thought something walked passed me once I froze for like 20mintues.

That night also, when I went to bed in my grandmothers house I heard likes of scartching coming from the door.

I'm big into the paranormal.
I'm thinking of doing my own ghost hunting soon.
I never had a personal experience so I would like one.
Anyone here have any paranormal experiences?
Anyone here ghost hunt?

Really? If you find proof let me know.

I've seen many'a thread on this topic here, but the subject always interests me. So, I'll participate.

Meh. Interesting, but you can't see outside. The dog looks pretty interested at something just on the other side of the door. And without knowning what kind of blinds those are it's hard to say what might be operating them. They have blinds that are inside the windows now that you can control with a remote. So who knows what that is.

:wow: :wow: :wow:

Thats awesome.

Some of those are interesting, but most look "suspicious" to me. Especially the so called poltergeists. As a rule you should be skeptical if you can't see all parts of whatever is moving. Like the chairs or tables. It's soooooo easy to rig stuff like that up to move and position a camera up in just the right spot. Some of those videos look a little fake too.

I'm an avid Ghost Hunters watcher myself. I especially like how they go into a "haunting" trying to debunk everything. They've dismissed many pieces of evidence because you couldn't see all the angles of a certain object, door, whatever. I especially love how they so quickly dismiss all the "orbs" which are so obviously unfocused dust or bugs in camera light.

That being said, they have caught some pretty amazing stuff. The lighthouse was one of my favrorites with the shadow that was walking around the steps above them...looking of the railing. THAT stood the hair up on the back of my neck!

Here is the footage from the lighthouse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-ZOBMrREJ0

i stake my word that this are real and have in no way been photoshoped

The footage they caught when they see the shadow manifest and then it runs away from the camera was amazing. I believe it's the episode where Brain says ''Dude, run!''
I always respect GH's, going in debunking, most of the other shows like Most Haunted never impressed me.

Looks like someone either on the other side of glass or standing inside the train and just reflecting in the glass.

You're kidding? This was debunked a long time ago as a photoshop.

Haha I know, always fun tho.

this one looks legit to me for some reason.

One of the most famous ghost photos of all time...

brown_lady_lg.jpg

The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall

The white blotch showing up in an antique photo made from an antique camera. . oooooooh.

You know, you'd think with the prevalence of recording devices with much greater capacity and quality we'd be flooded with images much greater than this, but nope, just a bunch of hocus pocus

This one scares me just looking at it...it's either a ghost in the backseat or my avatar.

This photo was taken in 1959 by Mrs. Mabel Chimney in a British churchyard.
She had just finished photographing her mother’s grave and then took a picture of her husband, who was waiting for her in the car. He was alone in the auto at thattime, yet the developed photograph clearly showed Mrs. Chimney’s mother in the back seat of the car. A photo expert examined it for a British newspaper and declared the photo to be authentic. In fact, he went as far as to declare, “I stake my reputation on the fact that this picture is genuine,” he said.

Yes, and people have never been known to lie and present falsehoods as truth for some gain . . never!

She probably forgot she took that photo while her mother was alive, and in a moment of distress, mistook it for something else.
