I was listening to the Iron Man soundtrack. I liked it. However, it wasn't great. And it made me think of the ones that WERE great.

What do you guys think are the great ones? Here's my list (in release order):

Batman - 1966
I just include this one cause it's HARD to forget the music from this movie (and the series). And that says a lot.

Superman
It's the grand-daddy of superhero music.

Batman - 1989/Batman Returns
A masterpiece. Elfman hits a home run.

Darkman
Underrated Elfman score.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Can't go wrong with Shirley Walker.

The Shadow
Pure Gold.

Men in Black
Another great contribution by Elfman. And an Oscar-Nominated one too.

Spider-Man/Spider-Man 2
Has a lot of critics, but I like it.

X2: X-Men United
The genre's most underrated score.

Superman Returns
Another home run by John Ottman.

The Rocketeer theme is absolutely wonderful. It perfectly captures the innocent spirit of Golden Age. Almost brings a tear to the eye.

Good list, Catman!

My favorite superhero music is William's and Ottman's for Superman and SR respectively, by faaaaar. It's just pure magic to the soul.

I liked the Iron Man score. I liked thatit mixed classic orchestra music with more electronic modern music which just fits the character really well.

I don't really remember the score. :csad: Then again...it's been a LONG time since I've seen the movie.
