Yep Smith was attached, he was supposed to do it after his Fletch movie. But last I heard he bowed out because he really didn't think he could do it justice as a director. Not his style of movie.

And to answer you question, Celldog...I would pick Hilary Clinton to play the Green Hornet and Al Gore to play Kato. The villian, obviously would be played by George Bush.
