I never get why people are always saying Em slaughtered Jay on that track. Em made the beat. Em's verses were stronger no doubt, but Renegade didn't feel like a Jay-Z type song from the second it starts.

In other news, lovin this Roots CD

so i've only gotten to listen to the first half of the Roots album so far and I'm digging it. i really need to go back and get their older stuff cuz other than a few singles (don't say nuthin, you got me, the seed) i dont think i have anything else by them

Wow. You might as well start from the beginning.

Do You Want More?!!!???? is their major label debut, though they had an independent release before that called Organix (which didn't widely released until years later).

DYWM is what made me a Roots fan :up::up::up::up:

'Cause Jay goes out of his way to pump himself up as the GOAT, but then puts a track on his album where the guest verse absolutely eats his alive.

It's one thing for a guest verse to outshine the main attraction. It happens. But that first Em verse is seriously one of the sickest ever spit, and it makes Jay look inept.

It actually was an Eminem song, that's why it seems so out of place. Jay's verses are actually really good, but it's almost like he was an after thought.

Ah, so this was some sort of "Jay getting put in his place" thing for you. I doubt Jay(or any of his fans) lost any sleep over it. Any self-proclaimed GOAT is gonna give a B or C-level performance; just so happens Em brought A+ lyrics to that song.

Cats act like Jay's supposed to high-five Eminem for Renegade or something

I'd love to hear what the original with Royce would have sounded like. After completing the song, Idk why Jay/Em didn't just put it on Em's next CD.

I mean, yeah. Sort of. But I'm a huge Jay fan, so it doesn't really matter either way.

Jay's best moments are at the height of the genre, but my biggest beef with him will always be his inconsistency. Em, too, has fallen on his fair share of hard times.

I always thought Renegade was supposed to go on Royce da 5'9"'s album.

Dope song none the less.

*cough*

Oh DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!! :wow:

New song from Cudi's new album leaked on a Cleveland radio station:

Also, has anyone listened to Big Boi's new album? It's leaked already. It sound really ****ing good.

The new Childish Gambino is out. It's like Drake's Thank Me Later in the sense that it's more personal lyrically, there are more slow songs with singing on them than expected, and he doesn't go as hard, on average, as he did on previous work, but it's really good.

Yeah I'm really loving the Childish Gambino album. Not as much as the new Big Boi album, but come on, that's like comparing Donald Glover to Big Boi.

I thought it was dumb for any fan, let alone Ems to use Renegade as a way to say Em is better than Jay. Renegade is a legendary song where you have two of the best on one track for the first and only time together. That is a reason why I don't think these two will ever do another song together, which I clearly understand. To put in perspective Drake has done 2 songs with Jay, while Wayne has done 2 with Em.

I'm listening to the Childish Gambino album too and I really like it. Like it more than his previous stuff.

I might be behind on this, but the new Big Sean/Drake collab, Made, is sick. It's not Drake's best verse, but Big Sean brings it.

Got Big Boi's solo joint yesterday. Only had a chance to listen like maybe 1 and a half times to it...but I like it for the most part. It's silly how the label wouldn't let Andre be on it, but hey those tracks can easily be found and downloaded.

Gucci Mane has a song with Talib Kweli....

Btw, Recovery sold over 1 milli in US in 2 weeks, plus 1.5 around the world.
Listing to it every day.

Drake's song with Jay is one of the 2 Drake songs I don't hate. Can't wait for that bum's 15 mins to be up. He can take Minaj with him too, after her n00dz come out of course :o

Haha. The internet, gotta love it.

Talib probably lost a bet. Lemon!

How has no one ever jumped all over this beat? Hot damn, Rich Harrison:

Anyone else guilty of bumping a lot of Ross' features? I mean damn I really don't like the guy, but I can't lie he's making a lot of hits. That BMF joint he has bumps hard. And he probably gave one of his best verses on his new track with Jay:

Which btw, Jay stays coming back with that heat every time people doubt him. Easily one of the hottest bars he's spit in a long while.
