NEW LINEART!

Alright, let's kick this off!

First off we have Joker and Harley by Charles H. Jr. aka Kid Notorious on DevArt. This lineart was suggested by Crook.

Next we have an Indiana Jones lineart, as suggested by Ed Ryder. This also ties in well with the May Fan Art Contest.

I really do like this art style, it's like it's very minimalistic yet still gets the workd done.

It's like a merger between black and white and a colour diagram.

I would go as far to say it's probably my favourite piece of work on the thread so far...

tres bien :up::up::up::up:

One thing you should do is to put your color on a separate layer and set the layer to Multiply. That way the blacks and all the line work will come through nicely.

Hi, cheers forthe tip on Photoshop, still stuggling to convert line art on other paint packaged though, does anyone know how it is done (Microsoft APint and Photo Impact 10 are the 2 packages on my computer). Also if you a picture to colour on Photoshop will it stay in colour on other applications. Sorry to ask so much but I am very new to computer art.

It was genuine, I enjoy the style whether it was on purpose or not, it really fits in with the characters...

coloured yet black and white with their logic, simplistic yet incredibly complex persona...

I don't know if you meant it but it works

Ok I finally finished. I am still not 100%happy with it but i promised to post it.

Don't knock him, alright. Flat colors are hard enough, as it is.

uhmmmm....those are just flats.

Thank you Captain Obvious. If it wasn't for you no one would have know that. Actually that is what I wanted to do with it. Like I said it is not my best work, but at least I tried to do the X-Men piece.

^Well now that you got the flats done the hard part is over...Maybe you come back to it and work on it from time to time,do a little bit here and a little bit there. Why shelve it?Its not a race, you got all the time in the world

Very true. I can always go back to it sometime. Truefully nothing I have posted so far is 100% done, there is always something more I can add to it. But for now the X-men will have to take a back seat to some other projects. I am thinking of working on the Indy piece next, but you never know what you may see me do.

I've been working on it during free time. But working on my own mess of a comic has taken the better part of my life atm.

Hopefully i'll be able to finish it within a couple weeks.

I was wondering if you guys could point me to some good GIMP tutorials? I just got it, and have no clue how to use it.
