He fell, from such a high drop.

Fear, anxiety, panic, anger, excitement are all things that can trigger the hulk transformation, I imagine falling out of a helicopter would trigger some fear of going splat :woot:.

I thought it was anger that made him go into the Hulkness. In the 2003 one, what was his father injecting him with? And what made him the hulkness, he is now?

Okay, It made it so difficult to understad, but in the comics; how did Bruce turn into the Hulk? Gamma rays?

Anger is what they like to use but really it's anything that can increase your pulse rate. In the 03 film his father I guess was working on some kind a super soldier syrum, which then got passed onto bruce, happened the same way in the comics cept with a gamma bomb triggering it instead of some gamma exposure. What makes him the hulk now
again an untested super soldier syrum coupled with some kind of gamma exposure/explosion

I think that in the 2003 movie they should've at least turned David Banner into a gamma beast similar to someone from the comics like Ravage instead of him being like the Absorbing Man.

Re: What causes the change...It has changed a bit in the books over the years, but as far as I know the change has never been brought on by an increased pulse rate alone (if it were then something as simple as jogging or sex could be a disaster for Bruce) but it's a combination of an increased metabolic rate (pulse rate, adrenalin rush, etc) PLUS his emotional state of mind at the time too (high stress from anger or fear).

At least this was the norm for a very long time: Originally Bruce changed into the Hulk at night, then later willingly forced the change by exposing himself to more Gamma radiation (like the machine Blonsky used to become the Abomination for instance).
There was even a spell when the same stress that changed Banner into the Hulk would force the Hulk to change back into Banner (this idea didn't last thankfully, and we soon had the mainstay 'madder he gets, the stronger he gets).

For the film, although I've read Norton does have Bruce running around with a pulse monitor, I am assuming they are going with the stress angle too... High pulse alone would have him Hulking out all the time.

Basically the Hulk side is self-preservation manifesting itself in a physical form. Something causes a threat to Banner, that means Hulk has to die too. And Hulk is not having that. The Hulk hates his alter ego, but he knows that if Banner is destroyed, his existence does as well.

It won't be just the stress angle in the movie, in the script there's a scene in which bruce doesn't want to....have to much fun with betty :cwink: incase of a hulk out

Okay, so you take this as an excuse for film makers to throw out the comic roots? Boy society is quick to believe the dribble thrown at them. :o

I'd love to quote the rest of you, but it's getting really hard to grasp your actual point let alone debate it.

Yea u are right that society takes whatever is thrown at them...look at Religion? You are right about keeping things how they were meant to be,but honestly I do prefer the Take on Hulk And Batman in the updated stories than the original. Banner actually being a mutant made way more sense than the original to me. Also I loved the idea Of Batman being an ordinary guy who traveled for several years and trained immensely to be the Master of his domain. Wish they had made it a waaay longer time and younger to explain his excellent fighting, but I guess anyone who goes and studies for that long with no job and only that in mind will become master. Took Bruce Lee 9 years to become a gung fu master so I guess it works since he actually had school and a job. Anyway yea...lol

Uncalled for no matter what you believe. (Keep in mind, this isn't coming from the most religious of people.)

All I meant is I am not so keen on believing whatever a movie exec of all people has to tell me for a justification for a film.

I thought both Hulk and Batman Begins made about as little sense as their original incarnations. Seriously, what billionare is going to dawn a Bat-costume anyway?

And... let me get this straight... you find DNA influenced Banner a mutant and yet somehow being transformed by a Gamma bomb doesn't make him one? Well then, that makes about as much sense as a tiger floating down the Hudson river in an inner-tube with a bag of his sexiest peanuts.

"Uncalled for no matter what you believe."

Not really, freedom of speech and all that.

This is an international message board.

That's right and Religion is something that has been passed down by tradition. Tradition is ideas taught to u by others before hand so belief is just opinions thrown onto u and u chose to adhere or not...Like Norton BELIEVES this is the best route for Hulk and he has many followers. To some he is their Hulk Messiah, but to me he is my Hulk Devil cause I don't like the route he's going with it. It is what it is

Freedom of Speech may be a right, but it doesn't mean people don't abuse it all to often.

Don't get started with me tonight, Frosty's not in a good mood and doesn't feel like getting himself banned over what will inevitably uproar into a huge fight and derail the entire topic.

In my eyes, it's uncalled for. He could say whites/blacks/latinos are ******ed inferiors due to their race as well, that'd be his right after all, but I would still call it uncalled for.

FrostBite, you seem like a cool guy so I'm just going to say it, AVOID ALL TYPES OF CONVERSATION WITH SHIVS! The guy tried to argue me down that I had no proof the Leader in the 2003 Hulk game wasn't blue when he admitted himself that he hadn't played the game and didn't know any of the designs for the characters. He isn't worth it, I almost wrote a post that surely would've gotten me banned.
