I think if Marvel had it be a mandate to keep his appearance true to the comic, it would have looked as awesome as the Hulk. But since this is Marvel we are talking about, they lacked the conviction (even on their own project) to interfere with a directors vision of this 40 year old character.

But hey, if we are going to continue this, let's go into the Abomination/Emil Blonsky thread. This is a bit off topic.

First one, take out the H and you get a word schmucks throw around to lightly.

Second, if you say you like the Abomination, dont call the look he's had since inception as "Stupid". Especially when your surrounded by people who love how he looks (for 40 years) and consider that the Abomination.

Why not? That's just censorship.

And, take out the H and I get "gey". What is a gey?

Whatever, multi-screen name guy. Troll some attention elsewhere, there is no conversation with you.

so........the cgi on the face on the added bit in the trailer looks damn good.

It looks pretty cool. I like the Hulk with glowing eyes. Makes him look more Radioactive.

I like the shade of green, got a better look at it because of the close up, it definately blends better into the background than ang's green, which admittedly was a bit too much.

Ang's Hulk was just more of a true green. This time they Greyed him out more, made him more muted. I think it works better myself, but people without a doubt will complain about him being too green still.

I don't think he was too green, just that he was a little too bright. I will say that this olive green is the perfect color for the Hulk.

Well, I kinda disagree a bit. The Hulk is a radioactive monster, I always like the more emerald tones. It's hard to find on organic tissue, so I cant imagine what hell the developers of the first movie thought went through rendering the thousands of tries replicating green Hulk flesh on screen. With Ang over your shoulder saying details like he wants the eartips slightly translucent so light shines through like a real person if they are lit behind. Details like that make a graphic based artist jump at the opportunity to just show stuff like Hulk belly shifting under his ripcage when he roars, or you see his pants tear a little more.

I think the green was cool, but the consistency really screwed it up because you seen 3 evolutions of Hulk. I think film makers listened because he's close to the same muted grey green he was in the 2003 films transformation scene.

He ended up like that because of injections. Fish traits wouldn't make any sense.
1. Abomination looks nothing like a fish. He looks more like a horned lizard.

2. Yes, I know he ended up like that because of injections. The explanation is that the injection caused his bones to increase in size, hence the 'elbow swords' and exoskeleton. By the same logic, you could justify the classic Abomination simply by explaining that as well as increasing his bone structure, it caused his skin cells to expand and harden, creating scales. As for the frilled ears, that can be linked to the bone explanation, saying the cartilage in the ears expanded and deformed. If your response to this is "why would they bother explaining all that", by the same token the question should be asked why would Leterrier discard the classic design because he couldn't explain it (which is incorrect) when the replacement design requires more explanation because the anatomy is not present in nature (unlike classic Abomination) due to the fact he can use his bones as weapons.

Basically, classic Abomination can not only be justified, but by using the same logic that justifies the design we have now.

Well, I pretty much agree with what your saying here.

This should have been something Marvel should have been Bullheaded about. You use Abomination, it has to look like Abomination. You bankroll the film, you tell the people working for you what you want to see. I dont understand they had a mandate for them to Use the Abomination, but he barely resembles whats on the comic page.

animation doesnt look bad here

That's the HULK!!!

That scene f###### rules!!!!

The glowing eyes rule!!!

Everyone who is trying to justify the unjustifiable i.e why Hulk should 'technically' be radioactive, or glowing eyes are silly comments, or why classic Abomination is 'unrealistic' are all just plain nuts!!!
