I get the feeling that Rhythm & Hues are a bit flustered with the amount of work they have been given. This is the first time they have been given complete CGI duties for an entire film.

I think that is true, but I think it will give us more consistant results FX wise.

its not like ILM used different models in the final minutes of the movie.

it was the same model. you think they changed hes face?

As big as ILM is, the task they had of rendering the Hulk was still indeed a huge project which they did pretty well, except for being consistant with his face and color. Other than that, is was good. They are many shots being rendered by other fx guys for this movie and I expect a great product. Image Engine is completing 70 shots for The Incredible Hulk. Which gives us two companies handling all the vfx. I'm scratching my head as to whether this was a good thing. I hope for the best. The blood drop sequence is kinda huge (following the path of this droplet sounds interesting). It only shows me how dedicated they are to this project. I am being optimistic for the final product. Either way I'll be at the movies in June.

people are saying that hulk looked different.

we know that there were 2 officials hulk designes.
1. first hulk transformation.
2. hulk fighting with the dogs.
3.desert hulk.

but peopel are saying that hulk in the desert, helicopter scenes looked different. also in the city right?

so i am asking. you think ILM had different hulk designes for the desert and city scenes? why would they model a different hulk face for the same scene?i think it is all just an angle and lighting.

I know for a fact that one specific shot had his face altered because the angle made him look goofy. It was on the DVD commentary. I believe the shot was the close-up of Hulks face when he sees Betty in the helicopter.

They did not have different models, but remember that each rendering in night and day are just that. The shadows and shading was hard to begin with. All the overlays to reach that final effect was daunting to say the least. I feel just like everything else, guys come into work and sometimes are not consistant with their work. How often do we go to work and don't perform the same each day? Same I feel goes with fx. I can pull up at least six different faces and different shades of the Hulk from 2003.

Well, whenever the Motion Capture was done by Lee instead of Bana I could notice.

And yes, there we're 3 different Hulk designs. It's been known before the first film was even released.

Did Bana do any of the motion capture? I thought Ang Lee did it all. If so, other than the tank scene, which did Bana do? I thought the scene for instance of him picking up the sphere and tossing it was all cgi with no motion capture. While the desert scene with the tanks looked like natural movement which was Lee.

Ang did some mocap, Jennifer Connely did Hulk's faces (go figure - it's on the DVD!).

You people dont listen....

Watch the DVD again. They demonstrated the motion capture with Connellys facial expressions in one part of the DVD extras. But for most of the shots, it was Ang doing stuff for the Hulk instead of Bana. To me, I can tell which shots we're Bana, and which ones Ang did.

I'm really liking the new look. The bright eyes don't bother me at all and my only gripe (and this is nit-picking at this stage) is the hair looks a little too 'clumped'. This could be part of the scene mind you* and if not I wouldn't be surprised though if that is refined soon enough.

Anyways, a while back there was a little argument over unfairly comparing the two film Hulks by using a poorer quality 03 shot to match the blurred quality of the 08 one.
As there's no excuse to handicap either one now here's a mock-up of both with nothing changed from the original pics other than joining them.

* by story I mean:
one change takes place in a water bottle plant so it would make sense if he does get wet and his hair sticks/clumps up as a result
.

On the subject of the 08 skin texture vs. the 03 skin texture...
If Hulk grows to say, 9 feet, we expect all parts of his body to grow proportionatly, right?
Well, then, should not the blemishes, pores, pimples, etc also grow proportionately? (I know I am spelling that differently each time, and I am going to keep doing it until I hit one that looks right.) :p
Well, if that follows, then the skin on the 08 Hulks should be more realistic, should it not? Would a 9 ft tall Hulk with tiny pores a supermodel would kill for be more realistic?
I dunno, just playing devil's advocate here.

funny,..not at all,..
Shaq's (7') pore's aren't any more visible than a ten year old's (5'). :woot:

It's a pretty good poster, though I'm getting a little tired of how this movie keeps on trying to prove how it's going to follow some old, outdated TV show.

IMO they need to do that to pull in as many people as possible, comic fans aren't going to make up a huge amount of the BO. I myself am not a massive fan of the tv show, love the comics much more but I see why they're doing what they're doing as so many did love the show.

That blog is just fan opinion based off of the rumors and news articles we've been. I appreciate the thought, but it doesn't offer something new.
