does anyone here do their own taxes? ive been doing mine for a few years now, but i'm tempted to have someone else do them to see if i'm missing something. i feel like i should be getting a lot more back than i do

Because I can file 1040EZ I just file for free on either H&R Block's or Turbo Tax's website.

You may be missing some deductions and credits. Both H&R Block and Turbo Tax offer help if you aren't sure about those things. Having a person do your taxes can get expensive fast. The people in my area charge an arm and a leg. So you might get more back, but have that negated by the cost of doing your taxes. Regardless of that tho if you aren't filing 1040EZ it's a good idea to get professional help when doing your taxes.

i'm doing the EZ now. My friend's mom does taxes and she said she'd do mine for next to nothing. so i might prepare myself, and have her do it and see how far i'm off.

i spent over 1k in medical expenses last year and it says that i had to spend more than 2800 to have it affect my refund

As a kid I used to wonder how sloths aren't just extinct do to just being slow moving tree meat. Then I learned they move so slow many have skin and fur infested with fungus and mildew. If you are a jaguar I'm betting sloths are like the White Castle of jungle meals.
