The movie that inspired the Joker is now on YouTube. Just search for 'The Man Who Laughs (1928)'. It's damn creepy-!

Nice find. I'm 20 min into it and so far it's pretty good.

The weird thing is, Bob Kane never gets any of the usual 'rip-off' criticism.

Kinda like how Indiana Jones is a rip of Secret of the Incas and Gunga Din.

It was Bill Finger who came up with the idea of using Gwynplaine as the model for the Joker. He apparently resembled a traditional clown in Kane's early drawing.

Anyone notice in part three how is drawer has has the two masks of comedy and tragedy emblazened on it? Because he's funny on the outside, sad on the inside! I love all the symbolism on these old films.

I've heard a lot about this movie from a friend of mine and I'm just dying to see it.

I'm totally naming my dog 'Homo' now.
