What the title says.

For me, I'd like the last film to be a stand alone Young Avengers/Avengers Academy type film featuring the proteges learning what it means to be heroes and ending on a high note with the proteges ready to take on the world with a unanimous cheer of "Avengers Assemble!"

What would you want?

I don't want it to end. Its not really the kind of franchise that would ever have a natural ending point.

Epic Marvel vs Dc movie!

What, I can dream, can't I? But seriously, end it with whatever they have planned for phase 3's ending. They have a plan, and it's working so far. In my dream world we would get a Secret Wars movie, but I highly doubt that would ever happen

I could easily the current crop of MCU actors ending after Avengers 3. I'll say this again....by the time the current crop is done, we will see an Avenger like Monica Rambeau in the MCU and she will be played by a 30-something Keke Palmer.

Avengers 6. They'll face Kang and have a big reunion of everyone ever, and then Kevin Feige and Whedon will be like "Yeah, it's been 20 years, we're done." And them D'Esposito and, I dunno, McG will screw it up royally, X-Men 3 level.

And by that time, X-Men will have been rebooted and everyone will be like "Oh, why doesn't Marvel Studios let other studios do blah-blah-blah." It'll be hilarious.

hmmm... this is an intriguing question. One I haven't put much thought into.

I was thinking that Phase 3 and Thanos/Infinity Gauntlet will end with the third Avengers film. Phase 4 would have to bring in a new direction to keep things fresh. For instance, rather than culminating in just another avengers film, they could do a Planet Hulk film or a Civil War film or something.

Now once they've exhausted all that, let's say by the end of Phase 5 they get the rights back for Galactus. I think Galactus would be a logical "ending" point. A force of nature. A great final threat. It's an accumulation of every Marvel franchise to that point. They find a way to nullify the threat, and there is peace in the universe.

The only way to "end" the franchise is to stop having cliffhangers. If they can wrap up every loose end then I'd be satisfied witnessing an end to the franchise. Even if it's only 3 Phases.

No Avengers kiddy film please.

agreed. I don't want to see Young Justice, Teen Titans, New Mutants... The MCU does it's best to keep things logical and the kiddy teams are just illogical. It's the same reason Bucky wasn't a child and Robin's never been depicted on screen as a ten year old. No real life situation calls for knowingly putting small children in harms way.

Young Avengers only works if it's Animated.

hmm...an Animated Young Avengers for Disney Animation as either a series on the Disney Channel or a full animated movie.

Well Marvel's planning movies all the way to 2021, with movies to be guaranteed to churn out through a conveyor belt every year so I assume they have quite a big plethora of characters to choose.

Well what if they were all early 20-somethings?

Same here.

And I hate it when franchises try to pass the torch to the younger characters like as if its the best decision.

It should end with Avengers XXVII, with about 123 total Avengers on the roster, gathered around a big table in a NY diner eating shawarma. Somebody puts "Don't Stop Believin'" on the jukebox, they all reminisce about how great a song that is, and then smash-cut to a black screen. Roll credits.

when the zombiecalypse happens and no director, actor or producer is left. I guess that will be the end

lol

Well since the MCU actually wants to acknowledge that their superheroes are wacky colorful kid-friendly people compared to the other guys at DC and actually want to be more campy especially with all the comedic directions they're taking then we may end up with a Young Avengers film.

They don't necessarily have to be teenagers, they could just be young adults.

BTW can we not make this thread a anti-Young Avengers/teen superhero thread ?

Yeah, no. lol.

That's like putting fire and 20 pounds of gunpowder in a box and asking it to please be quiet.

You mention such a ridiculous thought in the context of a studio film, what do you expect to happen?

What's the problem with Young Avengers? I Only read the first volume but i remember it being quite good

I think it will end when that stop making money....so never

It was. It was also reliant on dozens of stories in continuous 616 history, which is not available in the MCU.

Also, what situation would it make sense for teenagers to be in danger. There's a reason that they were grounded/sidelined in that story, and you'd have to play with that a lot to do any of these teen teams. There's simply no way any adult would responsibly sign off on their involvement, so you can only tell stories where the adults are all gone, or the adults can't stop them.

I personally would do it, make it like the Harry Potter series of the Marvel Universe, where the adults, perhaps with one or two exceptions (Nick Fury as Dumbledore?) are largely unaware of their actions and heroics. That could work, and be fun, and also pave the way for a very long lived MCU, as if kids grow up with these guys, they may never stop. They also would be un recast-able, but that's kinda okay.

Going back to the original topic, I'd like the last film to be "Marvel The End," and basically amount to an hour and a half after credits as an epilogue to everything MCU. Before that, you'd have the whole Avengers Nth, where everyone from all the films comes and teams up, even recast people playing varied versions of the same character.

Final post-credit scene: Uatu has been watching everything in the MCU. He is played by Stan Lee.

I think it'll end around the same time they'll stop making Star Wars, Star Trek, James Bond and Batman movies. So pretty much never or whenever the world ends.

This.

Exactly what I wouldn't mind watching and what I was suggesting. Kid protagonists can do well on film. By the time that happens, audiences will have changed and they would probably accept the concept of kid heroes more readily I feel.
