i like russel's idea to have made an explosive comedy cause if they made a sin city shot for shot adaptation, nobody would've gone to see it, it would have been like a nobody movie that only hard core fans wouldve actualy watched :csad:

That's why Sin City failed at the box office, is it?

Wouldn't say SIN failed at the box office since the studio wants a sequel.

There was also a House of The Dead sequel to the masterpiece Uwe Boll made, so that doesn't hold much merit.

But Sin City did good in theaters and even better on DVD.

Yeah, proof that the studios really don't care unless they can bank off of something.

Only Lord knows how anyone could bank off a Bloodrayne 2 and House of The Dead 2.

Lord knows they gave THE MASK an awful sequel. I bought it, watched it and put it up on Ebay the next day.

Well, even if it was lighter in tone, I think Jim Carrey's The Mask was a great adaptation of the comics.
It was indeed a good movie, but it was NOT a good adaptation of the comics. There's a difference.

A HUGE difference. It stepped away from the violence and anger of the original material.

Don't get me wrong but I love both. Actually became a fan because of the movies.

I'd love to see them bring the Mask back ala the comic like they had originally planned.

Yeah, it would be cool to have a new version of The Mask. Perhaps a really, REALLY dark comedy, something akin to American Psycho.

I'm just hoping that we get to see hints to the Mask's past onscreen sometime in the future, like the medieval weapons that Big-Head popped out of nowhere once in a while, and the sequence where Big-Head is ritualistically decapitated and puts his own head back on.

None of that bulls**t Loki/Norse God crap. :cmad:

I doubt we'll get a second chance yet. Right now, it seems like the fan films are winning out. Though I wouldn't rule out another film.

Anyone have any thoughts on who could possibly play Walter if we ever get to see an actual adaptation of the comics someday in the near future?

Minimal acting's required, I believe. Since Walter never speaks, all the actor would have to do is be incredibly freakin' huge and have a menacing stare, and at times have that sick smile while self-mutilating.

A pro wrestler would probably be the best choice, IMO. I don't know wrestlers at all, so someone else could probably find a good candidate much better than I could.
