The Matrix Resurrections

Even though most of their output is mediocre, I still can’t help but be excited when a Wachowski project is announced. I feel like they’re just very innovative filmmakers. And I’m majorly curious how Lana handles the directorial duties alone. She did a lot of the second season of Sense8 by herself but I imagine making a movie is different.

I’m going to be that guy. Does anyone really have high hopes for this? There was really only one good matrix movie even though they had the same directors for all three. And the Wachowskis last movie, Jupiter Ascending, was horrible. So my expectations on this being good are extremely low.
I do, honestly. I LOVED the first Matrix, really enjoyed the second and am mixed on the third, but I'm still incredibly pumped for this movie. you can say part of its nostalgia, but also I'm also curious as to what kind of story has been created for a 4th film nearly 20 years later. Im pumped.

I’m just looking for a more satisfying ending the Part 3 to this whole Matrix saga. Not saying this won’t be open-ended for more potential sequels, but I kind of hope it’s constructed as the final FINAL one.

Heh, while I hope this is good, I highly doubt it’s going to be made to be the “final” one. I’m pretty sure they’re hoping to turn this back into a franchise. That said... this series really does need a satisfying ending, because Matrix: Convolutions took a crap on the whole series. But I would follow the Wachowski Sisters into the unknown after Sense 8, so I’m hopeful.

Argh this footage looks so similar to stuff from The Matrix. I cant even begin to think what this film is going to be about.

Neo with the John Wick look will be hard to get used to. I need clean cut pretty boy Neo!

It is interesting. Everyone was so polished in the original series. Looking back, it’s actually funny how much it influenced fashion. A lot of regular folks tried replicating those looks.

I’ve been wondering if and how this film would adapt today’s fashion trends. So far it looks very tame.

Wouldn't it be something if in fact even after the "win" of the last film that there sprung up people that frankly, found the life of the Matrix better than reality and returned to it?
I always assumed this would've happened after Revolutions. Like, surely there were a ton of Cyphers in the world who would've chosen the Matrix if given the choice. Plenty of people had good lives that they worked hard for and wouldn't want to give everything up just that like.

These stunts look fantastic! I have a really good feeling about this movie, honestly. I'm ready for the return of the matrix!

He could start off this way and by the end get a shave and a haircut. His return may have something to do with the look hair/beard look.

He also could look this way in the "matrix" and maybe in the "real world" he'll have short hair/no beard. Maybe they're trying to distinguish the two worlds look more this time around?

am I the only one who feels this movie is gonna go back to the basics of the first one a bit?

What I hated about Revolutions is that it barely spends time in the Matrix.

Since around 70% of the film was spent in the real world, it makes for a very difficult watch, due to the somber feel of the Battle of Zion, the Machine City and the dark color grading overall of these scenes.

It could be made to be a satisfying conclusion to what came before while opening up all kinds of doors for the future.

I can say the Wachowskis have more bad than good films in their resume right now.

Spielberg made Duel and the Jaws a few years later. He didn’t really have a bad run like Wachowskis have had.
Speed Racer is better than Schindler’s List. There, I said it. I said it!
