Don't get me wrong, I love the style. They just have a little gay feeling to them. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be that way or if I'm going too deep into it.

its a running theme with artists of that style take two characters who have no gay undertones and go nuts

The reason a majority of anime guys look somewhat feminine is because most of them are teenagers or young adults, and artists go for that pretty boyish look. On the rare occasion you watch an anime starring an adult character over 30, they don't look feminine.


Just watch Envangelion. Shinji looks feminine, but he's only 14. His dad Gendo doesn't look feminine at all.
