The Mystery of The Malaysia Airlines Flight 370... - Part 1

See this looks like a cave that is big enough to maybe fit a plane, I dunno

Yeah they're just going to tax the plane through all that underbrush and right into the cave. How could we not see it before?

BTW where is this? It's beautiful.

There going to go out and identify the debris. Probably nothing once again.

I was just thinking, doesn't that area have an incredibly large amount of garbage floating in the ocean? That could possibly also hinder the investigation, I would imagine.

So far they have been unable to confirm anything other than this time there was something to see, just not if it was plane wreckage or more junk in the ocean.

Bad weather and nightfall were hampering their efforts.

You can't just land a plane in a cave. Even if the cave is big enough, it's not that simple. The plane needs a long runway to slow to a stop.

You're just not open-minded enough like other people in this thread.

Didn't we go through this satellite stuff with China last week? I'll believe it when it's confirmed. I'd be shocked if it made it that far south just ghosting.

Tony Stark can land a plane in a cave with a bunch of scraps

The aviation industry should think about making search and rescue in water alot easier, like having a few buoys or flotation device with lights or beacon or reflective patches on them, strung together that release on plane impact or getting wet (like the ping on the black box). Some sensorized hatch or compartment on the top of the plane could release the buoys. If you can make airbags for cars, why not some buoys for planes to mark the water surface of the approximate crash site. Plus if there are survivors, they can cling to a buoy.

Nic Cage might terrorize some movie-goers but I don't think he's a terrorist.

good idea

If this plane is a national obsession now, can you imagine if it was an American plane that disappeared?

The story been strange since day 1. You don't often hear plane vanished.

Adding to the strangeness, Satellite saw these objects, but still nobody find it yet.

Once found, may not even be from the plane.

Let's see how strange this story continues to be...

The planes and ships haven't reached the debris yet. This is a complex recovery mission in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and it just started yesterday. Too many people revel in this like it's some sci-fi TV show. Lets just hope this is really the plane and the families get closure. Like I said earlier, I have serious doubts about how the plane could have gotten so far south, but I hope this is it.

Australian prime minister says some objects have been discovered by satellites

Fighter jets have been diverted to investigate possible debris

Word is he may have jumped the gun a bit.

^ What fedora-wearing trench-coated men have you been talking to at what underbelly bar?

I don't get why the entire civilized world has collectively shart itself over this. Whatever happened to the Bermuda Triangle? Is it still even a thing? I was raised believing that planes and boats go missing all the time. That it was a common occurrence since the birth of aviation. I mean, I get that this is a huge commercial plane that's gone missing but still, why is the whole world so concerned over this? I dunno, I just think its a bit odd

Perceived omniscience of governments or ubiquity of satellite surveillance.

Could be that there were humans on board. That'd be my first guess. When 239 humans and a craft the size of a 777 go missing it tends to cause a stink. Until debris is found or we find the plane intact there is also the possibility that the plane is in the hands of terrorists or pirates which is bad for numerous reasons and it means the passengers might be hostages. Also its the complete lack of physical evidence. That too. That makes it a unique case.

Seriously tho, this is the modern world not some superstitious backwoods tribe. We like to have answers and to know why and where 239 people and a 777 disappeared to. The "bermuda triangle" and a shoulder shrug doesn't cut it. A 777 disappearing without a trace is in no way shape or form a normal occurrence.

If this plane crashlanded in the water what are the chances the passengers and crew made it off the plane before it sank?
Does the plane carry life rafts, etc in case of such an incident?
How long could they survive in the water?
Could that debris have been washed down there by the tides?

What was the weather like when it disappeared?

Possible concern over human life from the families involved at the very least?
