    When I first heard his real name, it was Magnus Maximoff.........Then it went to Erik Lensherr....I believe in the first movie script it was Joseph Magnus.......so what is the correct continuity and why were they changed?

    Magneto paid a forger named George Odekirk to create the cover identity of "Erik Lehnsherr the Sinte gypsy" for him. His true name remains unknown. His full name in current continuity is Erik Magnus Lensherr.
