I laughed at Betty White swearing.

She's seen a career revival the last year, with no signs of slowing down.

Missed the opening sketch though, what was it about?

He made one appearance in a cameo back in 2002 when Eight Crazy Nights came out. He sang a third version of the Hannukah song.

Which he probably made money off by putting on a comedy album. Again maybe he doesn't want to. He did show up for the 25th Anniversary Special as well but he was never a Phil Hartman/Dana Carvey/Mike Myers performer who could appear in every sketch he was a comedian who shined mainly on Weekend Update just like Andy is only funny on Digital Shorts so perhaps appearing in the majority of sketches doesn't appeal to him.

Eddie Murphy has his reasons for not coming back and Sandler must have his as well. Maybe since Eight Crazy Nights his schedule hasn't worked out with what works with SNL and or he didn't want to boost the ratings of SNL as a promoted host for the execs that fired him and just made a surprise cameo.

But Cheri Oteri isn't Sandler, she probably was a diva and didn't have friends when she left ten years ago. Any person who was a castmember for a few years makes a cameo after they've left (Parnell, Sanz, Morgan, Meadows, Amy, Hammond, etc.) Logically shouldn't she have appeared in the early 2000s?

Shouldn't she have been on 30 Rock by now? Or on a project with any SNLer from when she was on as they seem to like working with their friends. Or came back to do a cameo on SNL? She appeared once on Colin Quinn's failed NBC show. That's it.

Molly and Ana haven't done anything with her and neither does Ferrell who did a lot of sketches with Oteri. Ferrell always has SNL alumni with his projects. She could've been on Jimmy Fallon's show last May to promote Sit Down, Shut Up but her last three talk show appearances were Conan in 2000, Jimmy Kimmel in 2003 and Craig Ferguson in 2007. If her career has faltered wouldn't they help her out if they were friends?

You know that sketch with the 5 blond sisters, 4 pretty and Wig playing the ugly deformed 5th. I came in towards the middle of that. I think White played their mother or grandmother

I can't believe it, but this one surpassed Hamm's episode. Not a bad skit in the bunch.:hehe:

I know that sketch.

And I had wondered when and how Will Ferrell was going to appear on 30 Rock. I was quite amused at how he was written into the show, and for two weeks in a row as well!

So when was the last time an episode of Saturday Night Live did not have a political sketch?

I literally haven't watched an episode for years. I'm so glad I watched this, sucks I won't watch anymore.

I loved Betty White on SNL! It was also great to see Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Molly Shannon again!

the Dusty Muffin segment was almost as good as Alec Baldwins Schweddy Balls segment

the thing is, the muffin thing actually could be a real conversation. Schweddy balls is a bit too obvious. Both were HILARIOus. just saying.

Cant believe i forgot to set this on my dvr. Ima hafta catch it ondemand or sumthin

Betty White was beyond EPIC last night. Best SNL host in years hands down. The best was the muffin, death metal version of golden girls and the csi in the florida retirement community lol.

That was a good episode. Sure there were a couple of duds but it was pretty solid and it reminded me of how good SNL use to be.

Almost every female SNL alumni from the past 15 years made it onto the show with Betty White. I say almost cause I didn't see Cheri Oteri, Casey Wilson, or Michaela Watkins on there. I know, I might be beating a dead horse on this whole thing about Watkins getting booted off the show unfairly, but nearly a year later and seeing absolutely ZERO indication that either of the two chicks, that were introduced this season, are even remotely amusing, which they're not. It's injustice, period.

-so sayeth the mastermind-

I gotta say I LOVED this episode :) seeing Molly and Ana together again made me giddy as a schoolboy the whole episode, and I think I almost crapped during the awesome delicious dish sketch, it felt like such a good tribute to the SNL days I loved. I thought Betty was hilarious too, as well as the other guest stars, I just wish it was a longer episode!! I wish Cheri was there as well, but what can ya do. I know Tina and Amy have their own shows but i'd be in heaven if they hired back maya, rachel, ana and molly (and cheri!) SNL would be outrageously funny again like it was. It is unfortunate but the alumni women acted rings around the 2 new actressess they introduced this season on SNL...they really need to screen new people better to make sure they are actually funny :awesome:

Jenny Slate was only funny when she said **** and realized she said it.

So do you think Forte and Armisen will say goodbye this year? They've been on the show the longest.

Haven't watched SNL in years, but I'm interested to see this episode just to check out how Betty White can pull it off. The reception seems extremely positive, and I'm glad she's having a resurgence of career at age 80+.

Forte yes. Armisen should be good for one more season. Besides, the unknown factor is whether or not Keenan Thompson can do an effective Obama impersonation. I know that Keenan's a big guy and Obama is a lanky individual, but that did not stop Keenan from playing Tiger Woods in a sketch when Blake Lively hosted. And Tiger is a lanky guy himself.

If Armisen was to leave this year, than that would mean that Keenan can do an effective Obama impersonation or that they've hired another African American to play Obama.
