Army of Darkness is the greatest movie ever. If you don't think so, you deserve death. Now, HAIL TO THE KING, BABY!

AoD has the best rewatch value of any movie ever created. Evil Dead 2, while an excellent film, does not have the same rewatch value. Thus, AoD > ED2 (But just barely.)

"Get your dam filthy bones outta my mouth!!!"

I like Evil Dead 2 more but AOD is kick ass i mean it has lil ash' :D

Evil Dead 2 was the best one, sure.... but Army of Darkness comes close. Damn close.

Not to mention it has the most badass oneliners of any movie in history. I still slip out a few Ash quotes every day, at least... confusing the hell out of anyone who I haven't converted into an AoD fan yet. "Yet" being the key word there, of course. ;)

"This...is my BOOMSTICK!"

I don't know if that's the exact quote, but damn...funny stuff in AoD.

Hail to the King, Baby!

Heh, yeah that scene kicks ass, and never, ever gets old --- though the same could be said about the movie... it's honestly amazing just how rewatchable Army of Darkness is, even after you've been watching and rewatching it about 100 times for years on end. ;)

"Yo!! she *****! lets go!"

"Well hello Mr. Fancypants."

Ahhhhhh such a good film :D

"Good...bad...I'm the guy with the gun."

"Honey, you got real ugly!"

"Hail to the king, baby!"

Such a freakin' awesome film! Evil Dead 2 is my favorite movie of the trilogy, but AoD will always be remembered for starting my Bruce Campbell fandom.

Well, i could have stayed and been king, but in my own way i'm am king

"hail to the king baby."

fantastic film.

Army of Darkness kicks all kinds of ass.

"good. bad. I'm the guy with the gun."

Here is how I'd rank the movies:

1. Evil Dead 2 - 9.5/10
2. The Evil Dead - 9/10
3. Army of Darkness - 8/10

We were watching Army of Darkness last night on my campus, and a girl stands up and says "I'm a feminist, and I find this movie offensive. It's extremely sexist."

I'd really hate to see how'd she react to the treerape in Evil Dead.

Army of Darkness is better when you're 14. I dislike how the broadly slapstick comedy eclipses the horror, especially after the Pit scene. The Pit is easily the best scene in the movie, as it still manages a horror tone that's funny. As the movie goes on, the gore all but vanishes and so does nearly any attempt at a scare and they're all but completely replaced by humor that really isn't all that funny. What was darkly sadistic and ironic humor in the second movie became straight slapstick in this one. I watch the first two at least once a year. I haven't seen Army of Darkness in about 5. There's things to like about it, but it's honestly not a very good movie. It only plays well as part of a trilogy drinking marathon, where you're mental state is somewhere between toasted to thoroughly wasted by the time you get to it.

I love playing the game on the Google Play Market. ''Army of Darkness Defense'. Tower Defense game. 50 waves, then after that, ENDLESS Mode'.

Been meaning to watch movie again soon. One of my favs. Not a lot of extras on the 2 disc set though.

Army of Darkness was always the weakest of the trilogy for me, but it's still a darn enjoyable movie. Some of Ash's best lines come out of this one.

Always loved the scene where they make Ash's medieval prosthetic hand. Groovy!:hehe: Would definitely love to see a proper & official extended cut of the movie on bluray.

Was any of the movie historically accurate? Like did gunpowder already exist in other parts of the world before Ash created it in the movie? Ash could have possibly really messed up the whole world just by leaving behind the right technology to the wrong people...

I find it weird that AOD is actually regarded quite low when talking with the trilogy. AOD has always been my favorite, but I love the trilogy as a whole. Kinda not sure if I'm looking forward to that remake or not

"Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?"

"Good. Bad. Im the guy with the gun."

Bruce Campbell is such a badass in this movie. Love it!

As most of you are citing dialogue from the theatrical cut... Have you seen the directors cut? Wich you prefer?

I love the ending og the DC, but my heart will always be with the theatrical one... Also, love some of the additions, but "Good, bad, im the guy with the gun" is too beautiful to loose...

I didn't know there was a directors cut.:wow:

Oh yeah. On the dvd I have, the ancient 2 disc Boomstick edition, it has both cuts. Each have some good lines by Bruce, but I recall loving the theater cut more, and only being 'okay' with the DC.

One thing I DISLIKE is that I have a hard time taking out the discs from the case...

EDIT-- This film has too many dvd releases. And the DC only has 3 left in stock on Amazon. -_- my dvd is going for 72 bucks...yea, cause it out of print and BAD ASS.

Love AoD. Love that the trilogy's movies are all different in tone.
