Well I'm sure a few of us have started thinking about it. Now that we have pictures of the costume I guess the first question is of course the mask.

I really like what they are doing with Bane. I was waiting to see clearer pics to get a feel for the mask andover all look of the character. I have a feeling there will be more than one costume change.

still not a fan really. The mask looks like scorpion from mortal kombat and just really don't like the rest of the suit.

So far am I huge fan of Bane's look. I really dig the mask design and like the military outfit. Why? Well, sometimes you see stuff that just clicks with you

And Darkbatman, nice job on the mask

I'm Sculpting with plastiline ;)
And the final mask will be in Polyuréthane :yay:

Darkbatman, what did you make the "muzzle" out of? I'm thinking of doing a hybrid comic/film Bane mask this halloween and since they won't be releasing the Bane mask anytime soon I'm looking for all the help I can get.

Great job so far guys!!

It's a really difficult mask and I bet we won't see as many Bane's as we did Jokers!

Thanks for the plastiline tip Padawantoine (yours is looking great by the way), that may be the answer to getting my mask looking as good as yours.

I have a feeling that HQ replicas will be available to us before the year is out

The beginning of my sculpture ... :yay:

This is REALLY nice!!!! I myself have began drawing blue prints and done research for my Bane costume as well! :woot:

-Mask: completely making it from scratch! Going to check out some paint ball and motocross helmets to get an idea for a structure. If I find that right piece I'm going to break that one up a bit to get the form, then build some of the pieces into it such as the tubing and some lighter material like foam or leather to make the tubing piece that goes over the head and down the nose.

-Vest: going to search army surplus stores this week and see if I can find a pretty close model. Bane's vest is very odd and I can't find it ANYWHERE! LOL It has this kind of plating/armor attachment that comes in from the front and ties together at the back. But that will probably take the most research and work to get together to be pretty good as a replica. (I'm open for suggestions on how to pull it off :word:)

-Pants: I lucked out!!!! I was able to find the EXACT SAME pants that Bane uses in the movie off this website; and they even got the color! :woot:

-Glove: might have to make this from scratch as well, but by the looks of it I might be able to find it at an army surplus store, a medical oriented store, or like I said buying some fabric and making it from scratch. By the looks it, its leather too.

-Boots: I'll probably end up buying another pair before the movie comes around; those will be army surplus related as well.. :oldrazz:

-Head: We all know he's bald, so I figured I'm going to shave my head or get it trimmed a bit and go with a balding cap; Indy Mogul has a FANTASTIC and cheap tutorial on making pretty good looking bald heads.

Oh!!! And my gf is dressing up as Talia, so all the world is GREAT! :hrt:

I hope so but it's a shame that they probably wont be out until after Halloween.

Unless you're lucky to find one that someone made, and sells on eBay.

RE: Doctor Who

Sounds like you're putting a lot of effort into this! I like it. Good video there too.

I've just spent the last 8 months growing my hair back and I think the bald cap is my choice right now, don't want to go through that again! :funny:

Thank you for the encouragement guys! :highfive:

I am currently on vacation, but I will soon return and resume work on the mask!

I found new high-resolution photos on the forum, and it will help me ...

Doctor Who: Nice find for the pants!
I made a photo montage to compare the screen used and the Emerson.
There are some differences in the knees, protections are not the same, and the fabric around do not have the same color.
The pockets are larger and have straps ... And there are zippers and velcro on the thighs ...
A bit of work to customize the Emerson :yay:

... And I apologize again, but I do not speak English, I use an online translator ... So sorry if I do not express myself very well :csad:

Hm yeah the pants are close but not exactly there. It's definitely a good start though since we have so few up close reference photos and at this point we're floundering with lack of resources or leads on the costume. When I said HQ replicas would be available, I was counting on most likely YOU guys haha. From experience in the Joker costume thread as far as wayyy back pre TDK in the early days of pics of Ledger, I remember people began to sell custom replicas.

Great job so far guys!!

I made it out of a respirator and some bendy straws for the tubes.

@Padawontoine:

(roughly) how many pounds of plastiline is needed for the project?

Nice pic! it looks good! :yay:

And it is epic, you are the first to have made a mask!
You're part of history!
