I'm going to state my case why i believe we need Dr.Nathaniel Essex/Sinister in the future x-men films... or in any for that matter.
1. Nathaniel Essex brings a whole new ethoes to the ideology of mutants. In the comics he is not a mutant but a mutate, that of which he was once human turned mutate via experiment. Essex's believes that evolution is a gift, something of beauty that needs to be perfected. Like Magneto, Sinister has his own following, his own ideas which comes from the principle that Evolution is the key to the future but Sinister also dislikes the imperfections which to me, if you read the comics you'd probably think the same as i do, which is some of the de-evolved mutants like the morlocks, the recent beast look, beak... all look like they have in someway de-evolved back to a previous species. In Sinisters eyes to stop this would need a radical solution... elimination of the de-evolved. Thats a very strong and powerful thought he has... one that boards very similar to what Magneto suffered in poland. Essex represents the old brutal way of thinking. Cold, calculating and always for his own personal persuit of knowledge. so form a character development point of view, he would be the best character to bring into the x-men story because he has one of the worst views on mutant ideology and potentially the best threat the x-men would face.
2. Sinisters ideology has a following... unlike the brotherhood. Sinister doesnt have the same take action followers that magneto had. Sinister is a guy who you sell your soul too. For example, Gambit. but at the same time, he seeks out some of the sickest minds to work for him...i.e. Sabretooth, Vertigo, Blockbuster, Harpoon. Mercenaries is what they are because what they are is what they like to do best. Killing... see with the brotherhood they were fighting for there beliefs but mutants like sabretooth? whats his agenda? The Maurders aptly named are a perfect counter x-men type team...
3. Sinister also has ties with Apocalpyse... now as ive stated many times before, One just doesnt walk into mordor... sorry i mean apocalypse. We need to build up a momentum... i kind of liked how the Ultimate X-Men went with his story but not making sinister become apocalpyse because that would be stupid... but what i talk about is how Sinister has his own ideology but in order to achieve his goal, he has found his research leading him to apocalpyse...
4. Dr.Nathaniel Essex was born in the same year as Wolverine... i figure, how would wolverine cope with another immortal like being like himself who doesnt seem to age, doesnt seem to die? This raises questions on at least wolverines part. again one of the good things about Sinister is that he can relate to nearly any x-men character.
5. He relates as follows.... Cyclops is presumed dead but given his comic book past, sinster probably has him and the remains of jean on an operating table somewhere. He aquired the help of Gambit, Wolverine and Essex had to be at least born around the same year. making both the same age. He could essentially repower rogue. so as regards to character interactions... he has alot of leway
6. There is only one actor. In my oppinion that can play him and that is robert knepper. He just has that "I've been experimenting with genetics" look about him.
So there is my case, anyone else agree?
