The Official Green Lantern Fan Art & Manips Thread - Part 1

I was wondering, did I miss any manips of Cooper, Timberlake, or the fan-favorite Fillion in the costume?

This is from a guy named Dubean33 over at CBM:

He modeled the ring himself. Now all he needs is to get a jeweler to make a mold for a ring.

That's pretty cool.
Is there any official up close models of the movie version of gl's ring?

Hey Guys I made the first version of this costume last yr for halloween based on the entertainment weekly cover pic. Didn't have alot of reference but it was enough to put this suit together for halloween. I used my generic muscle suit as the base and carved in the muscle fibers, then lite if with leds.

This wasn't completely finished but it worked

This is nice, but I kinda think this fits better in the Fan art thread.

He should just have it fabricated by a 3D printer, that's what I'm going to do when I model my GL ring later this week.

You've got a 3D printer?

Not until my roommate converts one of his old printers into one, but I use Shapeways for small things. Should cost me about $30-50 I think.

Upcoming pic based on Blackest Night #6.

Something I started work on tonight. It remains in progress but thought I'd share and hopefully get some constructive feedback in the meantime. Blake Lively as Star Sapphire:

I really wish you chose a better costume to emulate.

lol sorry to dissapoint you. I have done several other suits as well, batman, spawn, daredevil, the comedian but all movie versions.

I don't get why people are so down on this suit, its an awesome representation of human anatomy, with the muscle groups and fibers. I wanted to do a suit like this for a while, raiden from metal gear is another suit I really like. And I still may do the crysis2 suit... again same idea organic looking muscles.

the movie costumes are all about adding texture to a plain looking suit. I really don't think a solid green /black spandex or even sculpted suit would have been the way to go. Like what they did with niteowl in watchmen, the scales added great texture to the suit although again I may have been the only one who liked that costume.

Here is a kids suit ( missing the symbol) done in the traditional green/black. Even though I have added shading to the muscles I still like the movie version better. But i don't think the movie suit needed to be CG it could have simply been enhanced with CG in post.

Because that Star Sapphire costume is too skanky is why.

I was going for something between the original costume and the modern ****ty one. Did I go too ****ty still?
