2) At the end of the day, he was a giant mass of smoke tentacles with a head. It was a boring, uninspired concept (and the smoke tentacles just looked bizarre as hell to me). Considering he is made up of energy, the fact that he seemed to be made predominantly of smoke was perplexing to me. And while I quite liked the idea of him being comprised of corpses, we barely see this detail outside of a few closeups, so I couldn't fully appreciate it.

They had to have known that this isn't the best way to get a modern audience excited about your film in today's world. It's not even a matter of being true to comics, they could have just chosen a different villain.

on the one side it does present scale, but at what cost.

Saw the movie in 2D last night and ... I loved it!! I will see it again for sure in 3D.

I'll post more when I'd have gathered my thoughts, but the movie's a good beginning/origin to work from for hopefully, sequels.

Right now, I'm flabbergasted by the negative reviews.

I thought it was a pretty good movie, went into it with semi-low expectations, but I think this was Better than Thor. Only real part I did not like was when they are taking about

Abin Sur, being the fist Alien contact, so.. I am guessing DC is not having any of their Hero's be in the same "Universe" ? Because what about Superman..

If this was DCU connected to future films, they could not look at Superman as "alien" due to him looking entirely human. They didnt seem to surprised to see a guy in green flying around and making constructions. Or the film (if they decieded to connect it) could take place very shortly after Superman debutes.

something about this footage and the way people respond has me thinking a reverse camera shot would reveal 6 intimidating wb representatives or a firing squad.

It would be really unfortunate if this didn't get a sequel because this is the best non Batman dc adaption since V for Vendetta . I will not feel bad for loving this film . It stuns me that Thor got great revies and this got bad ones . I loved ZThor by the way . But the tone & quality is on par with each other


I can only hope wb gives Green Lantern a 2nd chance with a small be budget . I wouln't rule it out just yet At least I hope

The film is much more enjoyable if you go in hoping to watch an action-comedy. And even then, the comedic elements still fail lol.

You wouldn't find a living mound of diarrhea with a face to be menacing?

I think it's the same reason why the cloud Galactus was disappointing, that Parallax was as well...there's no intimidation when it comes to evil cloud, even if they have a face on it.

I haven't seen all of those, but it's certainly leagues better than absolute dreck like Steel and the Spirit.

GL? Better than these movies, except S:TM, and Superman II. Why are S:TM and Superman II on here? I agree Superman II is overrated, but geez!

I've seen most of those films aside from Steel/Captain America (90s) And it's easily better than all of those. I wouldn't really compare it to the older Superman movies, but it's better than Superman Returns.

Don't get the major hate for it. It had its flaws, but 20% on RT is not right IMO. I'd say it's more like 55 or 60%

after Returns I quite frankly don't enjoy them anymore, well the second anyway.

I don't understand why the Superman films are on that list, unless you're referring to 3 & 4, in which case, yes, it's better than Superman 3 & 4. But no, it's not nearly as good as Superman, Superman II, or Superman Returns.

It's better than pretty much all of those movies, although I would place it closest to the first Fantastic Four. Cheesy, not as epic as it should've been, nailed some characters, had a terrible, terrible villian, but altogether not awful. Sort of same with Batman Forever. Forever might be slightly more entertaining.

Better than all of those...and I assume you're only referring to Superman III, IV and SR.

Closest film for comparison is X-Men. That was another film thats biggest sins were what it left out.

For me it's better than all of those. It's actually my favorite comic/superhero movie now.
