It's not included. The film is reported to have cost $200 mil to produce and $125 mil to market.

It needs to make like, at least 400 million WW just to break even.

Remember you gotta figure in the theaters cuts, distribution etc.

I haven't seen the film, but I HATE the "critics are stuck up snobs who hate comic films" excuse. TDK has a 94%, Iron Man has a 94%, Spiderman 2 has a 93%, Spiderman has a 89%, X2 has an 88%, Xmen FC has an 87%, Batman Begins has an 84%....Should I go on? These are widely considered the best comic films among COMIC Fans and the critics all seemed to like them fine. I haven't seen GL, but lets not blame the critics for being biased. Most comic films nowadays are certified fresh and the majority of them that aren't, really do suck (FF, Ghost Rider ahem)

I think the scene where Loki confronts Odin was magnificant. That scene was just so powerful and heartbreaking.

I don't mean to rag on Thor but I think I envy how much it connects with it's fans, cause in my mind it reaches and I commend it for trying but it just seems like an imitation of better work.

Commodus talking to his Father in Gladiator before he kills him is just pure gravitas and tension. Asking for Maximus' support and then banishing him to death...then his family..etc. Thor does well but to be honest it's just so...marvel studios imo.

I loved it When Thor asked "Can I come home?"
VERY emotional film.

would have been a lot sadder if you cared about him at that point. Lion King would be a great example of this done better.

Again, just because alot of movie critics like a movie, it doesn't mean that the movie is automatically good because of that. Open your eyes and see the light.

When the film does badly...just like when some people were including the costs of the prior 'failed projects' with Superman Returns.

I've just seen the film and honestly thought it was pretty good, obviously with it's fault though. The main gripe for me was Hector, he just wasn't needed and they spent way too much time focused on him when they could've been developing Hal, the Corps and even Parallax more. I thought all the actors did a good job, Reynolds did act like himself at times but did show a serious character, close to comic Hal, I think a sequel would help him get there 100%. Like many others I felt the amount of time on OA and the Corps wasn't enough, I was looking forward to a friendship being developed between the corps members. All said and done, despite these flaws I still enjoyed the movie and am hoping for a sequel in the future. Also, none of the CGI bothered me at all, I know alot of people were worried about the amount but all looked good to me.

Yeah, Hector was pretty useless and he doesn't seem like he would know Hal and Carol but they say that he does numerous times.

CG was good, except those stupid claws in the lab fight scene. Those looked awful.

Thats good news actually,because I seen $150 for the marketing costs everywhere.
It would be nice if it was a little less.

It's not so much a flashback "scene" as snippets of a scene that play out over several flashbacks. They also cut out young Carol and young Hector, even though the child actors DID record dialogue.

Personally I was hoping for the "My dad flies that plane" "My daddy owns that plane" scene

It's not as though the marketing was that good either.

You know what they should have done? Play up the Father/Son dynamic. It is Fathers Day afterall.

But then again, that would just be more blatant and insidious lying.

Just the way it was tacked on. Think about it. Hal's this awesome pilot, has been doing it for years. It's safe to say the picture of his dad has been in his cockpit all this time. But only NOW he freaks out about it? It's just contrived writing.

And there was just zero emotion in the scene. It was funny because it seemed like a spoof or something. Like a parody of Maverick from Top Gun.

I went to see the movie again today, and didn't walk out disappointed. Actually enjoyed it more than the first viewing. Everyone in the theater seemed to enjoy it.

I'm glad I went again.

It's from The GL art book and there are also photos of young Carol and Young Hal being greeted by a younger Congressman Hammond in the office of Carol's dad.

Please show me where I said that. I BEEEEEGGGGGG You, PLEASE show me where I said that. I said nothing about the quality of GL, good or bad, because I haven't seen it. I'm simply saying everyone who says "critics are snobs who hate superhero films" have an extremely stupid argument with very little evidence for their point.
