THE THEME:
I <3 New York

This contest is open to any characters based in or from New York. Examples include, that kid from Brooklyn (Captain America), the devil of Hells kitchen (Daredevil), or how about those pesky mutants at that school in Westchester (X-Men). Don't forget your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man or those Avengers and Fantastic 4! It's not all about the heroes either as there are many villains to pick from as well. Or even other franchises. Ghostbusters? King Kong? Watchmen? Punisher?

  THE RULES:
• Contest is open to EVERYONE
  note: to ensure no one is "cheating", no members joining the month of the contest is eligible to win the prizes that month.
• One entry per artist. Try and be as ORIGINAL as possible, do it in pencil, crayon, markers, action figures, Photoshop whatever you are comfortable with. Photo-manips are allowed. For example: manip&#8217;ing Wolverine using photos is OK &#8211; but be sure and tweak it creatively. I don&#8217;t want to simply see a cut and paste that looks like it took you 5 mins, that&#8217;s not very creative. Using art/photo reference is okay, I just don't want to see anyone directly COPY an existing piece of ARTWORK... and please credit your sources!
• Your entry should be posted HERE in this thread. Using artwork created by someone else and claiming it as your own will not be allowed - and that entry will be disqualified. Originality is always key!
• Please keep the comments and critiques as FAIR as possible. Remember however by posting your entry you are open to critique!
• ONE ENTRY PER ARTIST!
• Take your time and show 'em your best work, try to avoid posting works-in-progress. (Any duplicate entries may be deleted without notice from the thread). You may want to check the thread occasionally to see that your entry is still posted, any entries not showing at the close of the contest may be disqualified. Also if you choose to 'team-up' with another artist then you must clearly state both names with the entry and who did what.
• Any pieces of art that have been entered in previous contests are not allowed
• IMAGE HOSTING - You will need to host your own image and link it here in this thread.

ONLY IMAGES CREATED BY YOU AND POSTED ONLY IN THIS THREAD ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE CONTEST. By entering the contest you are agreeing that the artwork submitted is original and created by you the artist, and by posting an image you are open to critique!

Think I'm gonna go for Daredevil. Don't think I've ever drawn the guy beyond some very loose sketches more than a decade ago. Let the countdown begin...

My entry is an old piece I was working on. It is unfinished, I know CC said to TRY and avoid unfinished works, but I have had trouble for many years with arthritis in my hands and can't really draw like I used to....I really don't think a new work would look decent at all, and don't want to ruin this one by continuing to work on it with my hands not being as good as they used to.

Anyway....here is Doc Savage and his crew (Doc works out of New York City...his main headquarters is in the Empire State Building)....this is Renny, Long Tom, Johnny, and Doc.

unfinished works are totally okay. i simply meant don't post every single work in progress pic in here. that's even more encouragement for someone to open their own art threads to showcase this.
