The news of this movie finally getting a jumpstart is GREAT news indeed! This is my most anticipated comic movie of all time (since GI Joe seems to have stalled and what I heard about it wasnt any good anyway)

I can't believe there isn't more excitement over this movie. It's one of the best comics on the market (when it was coming out, anyway) and there's big talent behind it...AND it'll blow away mediocrity like Fantastic Four, Daredevil and Hulk

Okay, this is shameless self promotion...but I'm a HUGE Madman fan...so over on my music site we did our once a month non-music interview with Madman creator Mike Allred. Allred isn't saying who but the actor did star in 2003's biggest budget movie.
Wikipedia says that movie was Lord of the Rings (and Elijah Wood was rumored to be up for the part)
he also mentions his dream cast for the movie would include:
Natalie Portman as Frank Einstein's incredibly patient girlfriend, Jo.
Steve Buscemi as Jake
Gene Wilder and Robin Williams as Madman's creators, Dr. Flem and Dr. Boiffard (respectively).

The star of '03's biggest $ maker could be Viggo Mortenson too. After all, he did playa former hitman with a ****ty memory in A History of Violence. So it's possible. And it's Dr. Flem, not Flemming. Personally, I'd prefer Robin Williams as Mott instead of Dr. Boiffard and I think Natalie Portman looks nothing like the curvy, ginger-haird Joe. I just hope they make some official announcements very soon.

Well, the only reason I thought it was Elijah Wood was becuase Mike Allred mentioned that his dream cast would have Natalie Portman as Joe.
Natalie Portman and Elijah Wood dating seems more natural and real, not Natalie Portman and Viggo Mortenson. At least to me.

Plus I see Viggo more as a Batman type, and to me Madman is like a Spider-Man body type.
I do agree that I don't see Robin Williams as Boiffard, but then again with the right make up and the right type of acting he could be really good.
But I thought this movie should have been a cartoon.

Allreds announcement that the films lead had been cast was in 2004...and a lot can change by then...but I would LOVE for it to be Elijah Wood.
