X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

He has. When Disney bought 20th Century Studios from Fox back in 2017, Sebastian Stan went to Hugh Jackman and told him that Kevin Feige was planning on assembling the OG X-Men cast for a crossover with the Avengers. Hugh turned it down until he changed his mind in 2022.

He just got divorced, so money is likely a factor. But why don’t you want to see Wolverine in a X-Force movie with Deadpool, Laura, Cable, Hope, and Domino?
Can you send me a direct link to that?

As I have never read anything about Sebastian Stan going to Hugh Jackman.

You really didn’t hear about it? The news made headlines back in early 2018 (1 month after the Disney-Fox deal).

Sebastian Stan said in an interview that he spoke with Hugh Jackman and asked him if he was going to return as Wolverine. He asked this because Hugh had previously stated that he would have stayed as Wolverine if a X-Men/Avengers crossover was on table, and now it was after Disney bought 20th Century. Hugh told him that he was thinking about it.

Now notice how Stan also said that he might get in trouble with someone if he gave more details of the conversation. That “someone” was obviously Kevin Feige because March 2019 (when the merger was completed) The Hollywood Reporter said that Feige had meetings with the X-Men old guard about his future plans for the X-Men.

No i didn't, that's why I asked.

Also based from what you said, Sebastian Stan didn't offer an actual movie role to Hugh Jackman, for Hugh to be turning down a MCU movie.

My most honest hope is that once Hugh Jackman films both Doomsday and Secret Wars with all the MCU actors, he will feel satisfied with all that journey and wouldnt want to continue with "B projects" after the soft reboot.

Im pretty sure deep down on his mind, he knows he has done all he could with that role, and doing more projects would be "been there done that". He has a lot of talent to keep playing the same role 20 times. Whats the point? just money?
that would be really sad, if thats all he cares about. He should be exploring many other film genres, imo.

"Just money" We are talking about 8 figures a pop. Ain't no actor turning down that much.

Kevin Feige said no such thing. Maybe stop conflating "reports" with stuff Feige has mentioned in interviews, because Feige has never given any official statement on what kind of budget the X-Men movie is going to have.
I can't imagine their X-Men movie to have a "low" budget. The X-Men is basically their last big Marvel ip that they haven't done a movie yet, unless we already count Deadpool & Wolverine as a X-Men movie.

I didn’t say he offered the role, just that he told him what Feige was planning and asked if he would return.

There wasn't an actual offer at that time, so how could say Hugh Jackman actually turned down a MCU movie role. He didn't, especially the Fox buyout wasn't even finalized by 2018, for movie offers to be made.

No he wasn’t. But like I said: Kevin Feige was having meeting up with several OG X-Men when the merger was completed in March 2019 and that is when the offer was likely made. Ryan Reynolds even mentioned pitching a Deadpool/Wolverine to Feige around this time, iirc.

So Hugh Jackman never turned down a Marvel role in 2018, when you said he did.

Actually, I said he did this in 2018: “Hugh told him that he was thinking about it.”
