X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

It might be fun to bring Channing back if they could also bring Anna Paquin back and make her sassy

It’s surprisingly dull isn’t it. For something with limitless potential and the best they can do is like…what if Captain America was a woman?!?!?!
It got really boring after a few episodes. Ideally a What If? scenario is interesting, but when you are being presented with so many what ifs, it gets old really fast.

I hope it doesn't take forever to introduce them next? I mean I ain't getting any younger.

I'm equally distressed. Gambit is my top fave but Tatum is the worst. :(
I think RR realized the hype for him to play Gambit has died down accompanied by no offers for Tatum to carry on as an official Gambit. He is trying to generate more of it to pressure Feige and Disney. I wish he would shut up and stick to his non-acting Deadpool role. Leave casting to their fabulous casting director.

I think Deadpool is The Mask of superheroes and this generation. After three movies I realized that humour is simply not for me but I genuinely appreciate RR's love for the character and everything he has done creatively.

But please, his creativity should be limited to Deadpool. Don't bring it to Gambit or other X-Men characters.

Calling it now: Ryan Reynolds is gonna go out like Taika Waititi. People are going to get sick of his/Deadpool's humour the more exposure they get to it. IMHO, it's downhill after D&W.

IMO, Deadpool is a character who works best in small doses. And personally, I don't want him around the X-Men all the time, ruining every serious moment.

I find RR's brand of humour very one-note and juvenile. But my fellow millennials always want to kill me whenever I say it.

I'm always shocked when his movies has no fart jokes. Deadpool is the personification of straight men humour.

By the way, I hate, hate, hate the way his sexuality is portrayed: for laughs, to be mocked of. There's absolutely nothing funny about it. But people will also never admit they are laughing because it's "two dudes attracked to each other" or whatever.

We've had three Deadpool movies and D&W is the most successful one yet. So let me know when people get tired of it, because it doesn't seem to be happening yet.

Wasn't Ragnarok the most successful Thor movie?

It doesn't work like that.

I mean, Feige is not in a position to turn down sequels to billion dollar movies, no matter how well or not they may do.

Even in the old Fox era, they could have made Deadpool 3 to 5, and they would have performed well (while the other Fox movies were bombing). Maybe if Fox wasn't sold, D3 to D5, wouldn't have been as big as D&W, but they could have milked Deadpool as long as Ryan was willing to do it.

2016- D
2018- D2
2021- D3
2023- D4
2025- D5

Though in the Marvel Studios era, Deadpool isn't the biggest pie, he's just one of many, so its not exactly the same compare to the old Fox era. If Avengers (expectedly so), Fantastic 4 and X-Men blow up in the next few years, I don't think Marvel Studios would be fast tracking more Deadpool movies. And they still have Spider-Man as a co-production.

I find Reynold's Deadpool humor a very mixed bag and absolutely agree I don't want him around the X-Men all the time.

But this idea that this must be the peak and it's all downhill from here only makes me think of all the people who said the exact same thing about the multiverse when No Way Home came out. Did that stop the Spider-verse movies or D&W?

As of right now, this is just plain wishful thinking. Maybe it will pan out, maybe it won't. There's absolutely no basis for it for the moment, though.
