Playstation The Official Playstation 5 Thread

I prefer a new ip from Naughty Dog.

Though I think they should already be working on TLOU3.

Saw some rumours of Sony looking at buying CD Projekt Red. Could have been a good WRPG move given how many Microsoft have now.

I can't see CD Projekt ever doing that given how dedicated they are to PC stuff

I have so little interest in VR of any kind right now that buying something as expensive as the console itself is laughable. I barely have time for what I do play.

It sold about 4 million.

I think this would flop.
Probably a bit much of an expense in this economy too. I would probably be more up for VR from the generation after this.

I honestly hope this tanks, Vr is too gimicky and i don’t know why the headset is still wired there are other vr sets where they ditched the wire in the second iterations kind of head scratching Sony design team still kept that the same

The reason why I want it to tank, is just so PlayStation could focus more on third person action adventure games. VR isn't good for my eyes, and that extra device is eXpensive which i wouldn't even use for hours and many games.

I feel like Sony keeps branching out in so many things like VR, PC and mobile but I am not part of the target market, for those especially as someone who is only interested in playing games with the PS.

I can see this being the neXt Vita and Stadia. Unlike VR2 though Vita was successor to a very successful PSP.

VR is niche still but mobile is the opposite. Along with pc they need extra income as these top tier games with the best production standards get more and more expensive. Money is the only reason for bringing exclusives to pc and that can help fund/support those exclusives further. It's different teams for all this anyway.

VR is interesting to me but not enough to shell out hundreds of pounds for it. I can't see it ever being more than a niche until they can find a way to make it as simple and cheap as possible. Until it's mainstream, there won't be many worthwhile games either.

So this is the Ps5 I'll be getting *fingers cross*

PS5 Slim Release Date Window Revealed - Report - PlayStation LifeStyle

No stand. Q3 of 2023.

These are the released PS5 games in my shop list:
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Guardians of the Galaxy
Horizon Forbidden West
Resident Evil Village
A Plague Tale: Requiem
Gotham Knights
God of War: Ragnarök

I guess there would be 5 more before Q3 of 2023 (RE4, Mirage, Hogwarts, Jedi Survivor and Spider-Man 2). A lot of these games aren't really long so I would be able to catch up before PSiX.

I'll be curious to see what the design is like for the updated PS5. Not a huge fan of the OG model. I'll be waiting til next year too. Maybe longer even. The games released so far that I'm interested in have been cross-gen. I was waiting to upgrade but I think I'm just gonna grab PS4 versions for those. I can live with load times.

I really don't like the "stand" of the ps5, especially it makes the ps5 wobble. Something smaller would also save space for my room.

I was tempted to buy ps4 version of Miles Morales, God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Forbidden West, but it would have been three games that I should have played for the ps5, and I didn't even play their predecessor after I finished them. So I would have missed out on the haptic feedback feature.

I think I might buy the ps4 disc of Re8: Gold Edition though, simply because I have RE0 to 7 with the ps4 case. And I plan to buy AC Mirage for the ps4 too for my AC PS4 collection.

2 years later after its launch, still NOT a lot of games for me to play. The ps5 would have collected a lot of dust if I got it in 2020-21.

I have had plenty of PS5 games to play since I was able snag a launch PS5

Miles morales
Demon souls
Returnal ( on ps plus though I did not finish because of other games)
Uncharted versions of PS5 with a $9 upgrade
Gran Turismo
Ghost of Tsushima never bought the ps4 version
Horizon sequel
And currently GOW

I played mostly COD and Borderlands and other games in between to keep me busy and replayed other games as well since all my PS4 games were digital
