Playstation The Official Playstation 5 Thread

Ps5 could cost more it will not matter xbox will get destroid again. Sony just has to many good ip. Spiderman mm and its sequle, Horizon forbidden west, GOW 2 will all be system sellers and i am sure there will be more.

Yeah, PlayStation brand is too strong.

If Apple fanboys can line up every year to get the newest, latest, greatest $1000 flagship iPhone, then I don't see a high price stopping console players no matter the hardware specs.

Given the momentum that Playstation has right now. Maybe it being more eXpensive won't matter. But I personally hope its cheaper especially we are in a middle of a pandemic right now and probably until neXt year, and that it outsell Series X. I feel like if Xbox suddenly becomes successful or in demand as the 360, because its cheaper, it could get eXclusive games that might appealto me and I wouldn't like the possibilty of that, just cause I don't want to buy another console right after the ps5.

As for thepower and specs, I think most people would just want their games to work perfectly fine. So Series X's "stronger power" doesn't matter imo. I didn't really have a problem with my ps4 so I eXpect the ps5 to operate just fine.

So I was watching a list of eXclusives that came out in the ps4, and I'm kinda surprised there are so much eXclusive games that don't interest me and that I've never heard before. Out of the eXclusives that I might consider buying sometime in the future are Days Gone, Until Dawn and The Last Guardian. While The Order 1886 and Infamous First Light would be a quick purchase if those games aren't so short.

Now I'm thinking ps5 should at least have ten eXclusive triple A games for its 7 to 8 year run, that would be in my waitlist right away
1. Miles Morales
2. Horizon Forbidden West
3. God of War 2
4. God of War 3
5/6. Naughty Dog games
7. Ghost 2
And a couple of new ips that are third person action-adventure (I'm still wait and see on Kena/Projecr Althia but if they get decent reviews, then I would buy them).

As for Bluepoint remake games, I would like to see the first two God of War games get that treatment. I haven't played the first game and I didn't finish the second.

This State of Play has been really good. A lot of really cool stuff I hadn't seen before. Plus Alan Wake stuff in Control and Braid Remastered. :mrk:

I thought it was boring. It was mostly games (I haven't seen before) with cartoonish graphics which don't appeal to me. Control and Hitman III are already in my waitlist and GodFall is still a wait and see, for some reason it just doesn't eXcite me. While the new one, Hood looked like a multiplayer from the teaser. Really meh livestream.

I thought today's state of play was pretty good. We got a few new ps5 game announcements and i was not expecting that at all thought we where only getting ps4 stuff. God fall i had zero interest in before today but now i am leading towards getting it has it does look kind of good. Pathless looks kind of cool. I now may have 8 games that have been shown for ps5 that i want.

To those who have interest for Aeon Must Die from the SoP...

I’m getting sick of these stories. I’d rather wait longer for games than have the creators go through this.

One launch title off of the list.

One launch title off of the list.

Another one bites the dust........for now.

If more of these "launch window" titles get delayed into next year, then perhaps both Sony and MS should just delay the whole console until next year.

Perhaps one reason why both have waited so long to divulge information, including exact date, price, and launch lineup, is because they are still trying to determine exactly which titles will be ready for launch.

Losing Death Loop as a launch window game is disappointing, but not as big a blow to the PS5 as the Series X losing Halo. Now, if Spider-Man: Miles Morales gets delayed to 2021, then that means both consoles will have lost their main launch titles. If that happens, then that just further makes the case to delay the consoles until next year.

I would love that.
If both consoles do end up getting delayed until next year, I would be a bit disappointed initially. But then, I'd be like "Hey, it just saved me $500-$600 this year and gave me more time to go through my backlog of games on my PS4."

Truthfully, I am in no real hurry to upgrade to next-gen and neither company has presented me with a game that I truly feel is day one must-buy.

Not even Miles Morales because the 1st Spider-Man game is one of my backlogged games I need to play........:oldrazz:

I would be fine with a delay now.
Yeah, the biggest selling point now for either console, especially for the Series X, is play your old games better on the new console. At least there, Series X has an advantage with BC going back to OG Xbox games and BC being not yet fully explained/defined on the PS5.

The other selling point would be buy/pre-order the new console now because there will probably be an extended shortage going into early next year. So, if you really want a new console, you'll need to buy or pre-order one as early as possible.

I bet Apple would take a massive hit without the monthly deals. If people had to fork over a grand in cash for the phone they would start realising how much the phones really cost. :D

Also if they put out monthly deals for the consoles, say integrated with PSN or XBL/game pass for eg I think many would be tempted even if they weren’t that bothered with buying on day 1 otherwise. $600 just sounds a lot more than $25 a month for 2 years.

The delay to me would give me more to time to get all the ps4 games I have yet to own which arent that many but still. I feel like I would be pressured once I see ps5 in the mall. I also think its really not a good time to be starting the next gen of consoles, when we aren't close to defeating the coronavirus and several games are already delayed by the pandemic. At least by next year, they could have more titles that aren't also available for the ps4/xbox one.

Yeah I'm down to 12 haha. Not counting Legion/Valhalla as I already saved money for those. Would have been 10 by now, if only I was in the mood to pick up re7/Injustice 2 which are under 30 dollars now.
