You know there should be one. But will he be the Dude in Distress, or the *****e bag who wins the girl? Will he be the wise-ass simpleton who is flirting with the princess of Themyscira, or the hunk who steals her breath away? Or maybe Steve Trevor is just an ordinary guy, and behind all that bravado is just another J. Alfred Prufrock?

Is his role in the government reduced? Why did he quit the skies? What's his relationship with Etta?

And how will that guy from the awful Knight Rider sequel series handle a role that Castle was destined to play?

Also, a favourite debate among WW fans - who should Diana be dating anyway?

An ordianry guy would be enough. Actuelly maybe it would be better if we won't see Steve in every episode(or every other episode, even). He has his wife and i hope DeK won't turn Diana into a... "marriage wrecker" for the show.
And BTW... Why there's need to be any relationship between Steve and Etta?!

Enough already w/ Fillion!
About this Justin guy... I hope if the pilot will get picked up they'll replace him with a different actor for Steve.

Bruce or Clark? :cwink:

There isn't, but... wait... if not Etta then whom are you referring to as Steve's wife? I agree, we don't need to see him on every episode, and she definitely shouldn't be a marriage wrecker. Though, judging from everyone's age here, I'd say any 'love triangles' wouldn't involve marriage... then again, it's David E. Kelley, the man knows his social issues.

Hehe, I can't stand him either. And, I don't know will they be changing the cast after the series gets through?

:oldrazz:

No.

Please no.

Yeah, since he is married now, that greatly reduces Steve's role with that romantic tension stuff with Diana. All she can do is feel all flustered when seeing him again and then they're on their merry way and she can go on about him with Etta or Myndi or whoever.

I guess he could get into trouble and that's their interaction- she saves him. But unless he breaks up with his wife or she gets killed by some Medusa or something then it seems like Steve will always fade into the background to go home to his wife.

And BTW... Why there's need to be any relationship between Steve and Etta?!

I think this was brought up because of Steve and Etta's relationship in the comics. I don't think it will work here, with Etta being so close to Diana, and Steve being married and all.

All of Diana's potential love interests so far seem a bit...old? I actually don't want her to have this be Diana's dating show. I don't want them to focus on that, and I don't know about seeing WW having a lot of boyfriends. The good thing about Steve before was that there was always the potential there for them to be together. I don't know about that dynamic now that he's married. If there is a new guy then he should be an impressive new guy and there should be underlying tension there but they shouldn't play it up so much.

Wait, has it been confirmed that in the show he will be married? Or are you saying that "since he is married" now in the comics? Because honestly, if this is set during some of the years when Wonder Woman is making her first public appearance Steve is far from getting married anyway.

In fact, I think Steve above all else holds an important element to WW's story -- since he was the catalyst for bringing Diana to patriarch's world to begin with. I find it more proper for her to be in love with him more than any one else. And what is it about the relationships that seem old? We definitely do not need this to be Diana's Dating Show, but at the same time she isn't a nun who should be austere when it comes to romance right? I'm not a big fan of introducing a new guy, but I can see how it might work. Just don't make it out to be Nemesis.

Nave, in this script review it says that Steve is married:

after saving the day and countless lives, she pulls out Steve’s picture from her drawer, curls up in bed in the fetal position and cries herself to sleep. All because she saw her ex boyfriend who she broke up with four years ago, and now he’s newly married (which is exactly the same set up for Ally McBeal’s pilot episode by the way) Instead of ending Wonder Woman’s reintroduction to the world on a triumphant note, DEK ends it with her hugging her pillow like a teenage girl. I can only imagine that Kelley thinks that with a beautiful, super strong woman who seemingly has it all, that American women will hate her unless she is seen as not being able to keep a man. But I would like to have more faith in women than that.

I meant that some of the actors they chose that are potential love interests seem a bit older, like father figures.

If it's a new guy, I would want someone who is more at her level.

I'm still trying my best to NOT BELIEVE that script though. :P But IF it's true and he is married, and she is crying herself to sleep like that....................................well, at least he's being portrayed as a love interest in some light.

Oh and about older men, I think that was a nod back to the comics? Steve post-crisis has had a few years under his belt.

Well, Steve is young here, similar in age to Diana. It's the other guys she is working with - the CEO, the cop etc.

I actually wouldn't mind Nemesis! Or someone more involved like that, an operative/vigilante, an action-oriented character to match or work with WW.

Maybe "the Cape"? :hehe:

I'm joking, I'm joking. Don't take it too seriously. :yay:

About The CEO... I hope no romance will be between the two. I'm with you on that, Willi. He's way too old for Diana. :nono:
About her Cop friend... he doesn't seems that old. I think he's in his 30s, doesn't he? But considering the fact he's in Boston, While Diana is in LA, it seems like nothing gonna happend there, unless he'll move to LA or Diana will move back to Boston.

Hey there's also Diana Prince's neighbour William Marston!

I don't see anything wrong with justin. I thought he was pretty good in the short lived knight rider revival. As for steve character I don't know much on the character. So I don't have much to say there.

While I woudlve preferred the guy that was speculated to be Steve Trevor to play the role, I guess I am fine with this guy. But if he is already married in the tv show then ya I hope there isnt that much romnatics going on between him and Diana though I can see them killing off his wife to get them back together.

I think it would be nice to see him work with Diana sometimes and sometiems against her. He could be her connection to certain gov. things or whatever he is doing now. Though I wish they went with the MetaHuman agency or whatever in this show.

Well like others have said we don't know if any or all the leaked out details are in the shooting script and if they changed at all. Even if they had him married they could always get around things like that. With his marriage gone self on is own/he leaves wife/etc.....

If Steve Trevor is married in this show, then I say bring on Tom Tresser and Trevor Barnes.

Oh, I loved ***** Steve. I guess just the whole flip flip of having him be the fairly unless damsel in distress always tickled me. I doubt they'll go that route on this show or anything, though.

I like how Steve was portrayed in the 2009 DC animated Wonder Woman film with Nathan Fillion voicing the character as smart as solider who helps Diana adapt to Man's world and ends up with her in the end .

That middle clip reminded me of one of the things that was so cringe-worthy about that film.

I still find it hard to believe that Brett Tucker isn't Steve - an army vet, a lawyer- and Justin Bruening isn't a new love interest like the neighbour, William Marston (who is curious about Wonder Woman and asks "Diana Prince" all about her.)

Even in the above clips Brett looks more like that Steve, who looks a bit older than Diana.

I think Nemesis was just a sad example of trying to fill in Steve's void. He had some of the defining attributes of Steve - agent of the US govt., a love interest who travels to Themyscira, a modern-day 'cowboy' so to speak, and of course, the blond hair. I swear, Wonder Woman has been surrounded by too many blondes! Think on that for a second.

:D hehe, I agree, there was something cute about the subtle role-reversal there. It wasn't even that weird as most critics turned it out to be, I think something similar could be worked. If not the day-to-day dude in distress, at least the guy Diana still has to take care of. Steve's such a baby that way.

What exactly do people have against Tom and Barnes? I think outside of Jodi "I'm a decent writer who's out of her depth because I'm trying to tackle an established franchise I'm not remotely familiar with" Picoult's issues, Tom was a decent guy. I haven't actually read anything with Trevor Barnes in it, but I've noticed some negative reactions to his name from some older WW fans.

Well brett is probably just some other role for pilot.

Trevor Barnes himself isn't that big of an issue, I liked that Diana dated the activist for a while, but his entire characterisation is just marred with confusion.

And on a personal note, despite his role as a UN-worker, he came off (to me at least) as a sort of self-centered *****e. (I said 'sort of').

Since Steve Tevor is married, he show only show up infrequently. I also don't want to see Wonder Woman as "the other woman".

Out of the other options in the re-worked pilot script, I like the sound of Henry Demeter the CEO of Themyscira Industries the best. Then Ed the cop. Then William the neighbour. But, I'd also like to see Tom Tresser added to the mix at some point (if Ed and William are dropped from the show).

Well maybe we will see many love interests over the show(if it lasts a few seasons).

I'd actually like if Wonder Woman was in a situation where she had several potential love interests, so long as she doesn't date all of them simultaneously like some sort of harlot.
