BvS The Official Zack Snyder Directs Everything Thread

Got a few days off from work and I feel like having my own personal Zack Synder film fest.

I'm thinking Man of Steel again, the Director's Cut of Watchmen (which I started a couple weeks ago not realizing it was three hours long) and Sucker Punch, even though I hear it's terrible. The latter seems like pretty much the definition of eye candy though.

The directors cut of sucker punch is apparently a lot better.

17 minutes longer, including a sex scene between abbie Cornish and jon hamm.

I saw the theatrical cut, it is much better than the reviews made it out to be, though ultimately hard to follow.

^ I haven't seen Sucker Punch yet...maybe I'll check it out too. I heard that it was a beautifully shot movie though.

I actually liked sucker punch.
It wasn't amazing or anything, but it was entertaining for what it was.

Has anyone else watched the fanedit of MOS? They recut the movie so that it's linear instead of having Smallville flashbacks.

Holy crap a lot of people complain about non linear narratives.

Incidentally the only Snyder movie that I haven't seen, maybe I'll get around to it soon. Just looked up the voice cast, it has Hugo Weaving, Geoffrey Rush, and David Wenham....

....Helen Mirren, Sam Neill, Anthony Lapaglia, Joel Edgerton, Abbie Cornish, Richard Roxburgh, Jim Sturgess, Ryan Kwanten, Bill Hunter, Barry Otto. ****in' awesome cast.

The non-linear narrative doesn't bother me either. I feel like most who complain about it are just bandwagon-jumping haters who go out of their way to find something to fault.

That said, I'm still interested to see a fan edit and see what it would be like if the movie was told linearly.

The non-linear narrative didn't bother me. If anything, it was refreshing for a superhero movie. I didn't like how it was edited all that much though. My only real complaint with MOS.

It's okay to not agree with something, but you guys seem like victims saying that the haters won't hurt you anymore :p Abouthe nonlinear narrative, i was excited for that part, but in the end i think that it was badly edited and the flashbacks started feeling a bit random, instead of gradual like Bruce's in Batman Begins.

Actually it's a nod to his favorite graphic magazine called "Heavy Metal". A movie that he was trying to get made. So he made up his own.

I love haters. :woot:

I'm not a hater, it's not my fault that Sucker Punch is just a very bad movie :o

Ummm, who said anything about haters not hurting them anymore? Seems like a random thing to say.

Well, the part of "hurting" was more added by me :oldrazz:, but it did seem a bit like that to me from these posts

They don't bother me.

People, just because Zack Snyder gets criticism it doesn't mean that people have an agenda against him, i honestly agree with most criticism, and i enjoy most of his movies in a way or another.

I think you're overreacting to some of those posts. Saying that nonlinear narratives don't bother me is a far cry from "oh no! Don't hate on Snyder!" Someone said they didn't like something, I said that thing didn't bother me.

It's only one of the posts, it was seeing these 3 posts in succession what made it seem that way to me

What was it in the editing?

Ya know the only thing I'd say in editing was the way the flashbacks just appeared there should have been a fade for me, but its not something that really bothers me or takes away from any enjoyment at all.

Part of the reason that I have not bought the DVD/Bluray is that knowing Snyder I expect an extended edition to come out. It is known that the original version of MoS was 3 hours long, and Deb Snyder has acknowledged that they removed a flashback.

Even though I already bought the blu-ray, I'd still buy an extended cut if one ever exists.

I hope an extended edition comes out some day but I don't have much hope
