Okay, so you've got this amazing looking girl over for dinner. You laugh, you share stories, all is well...and you get her in bed with you. Not bad. But WHAT ON EARTH WOULD possess someone to perch upsidedown like a bat!!! BATMAN IS NOT ACTUALLY A BAT!!! Not only that, why would you do that when you had a hot girl sleeping over!?! Could you for one night say, "you know, I have Vicki Vale in bed, I think I'm going to pass on hanging upside down tonight."

To me, this is Penguin Commando bad. OH! And speaking of Batman Returns...he scratches a cd. A cd player with the Batman logo on it! Where did he get that in 1992?

It's unusual, but some people really do sleep and/or meditate while hanging upside down. I never saw a problem with it, really. Though it does seem odd that he would do it while Vicki was still there. Maybe he thought she would sleep through it? lol

I assume he had a lot of his mind and that was his way of meditating or 'clearing' his thoughts. Don't know but i never had a problem with it, i think its cool.

To be honest I thought it was a really cool scene to show Bruce's training. Honestly if you didnt train hard at being upside down alot, when he did it as bats, he probably wouldnt be able to handle it as well.

Sigh.
He was either working-out or meditating. He slept on the couch.

that scene was totally unnecessary, yes. Was probably there to show some DEPTH!

What about the part when "Bruce Wayne" realises that doesn't have a DATE with Kim Basinger and shows up AS BATMAN??!

Perhaps she had just confused some things.

The reason I ruled out training or meditating is because he was actually posing and positioning his arms like a bat.

And yes, cd's were out in the 80's...but a cd player with the Batman logo on it? Where does he get those made?

The film is about Bruce Wayne meeting a girl who makes him sane. When he sleeps with her he is made uncomfortable by the fact that he is staring to feel content and normal. To off set that he retreats back into his other guise as much as he can in the stituation

^ good point.

You got to understand a few things about Burton/Keaton's Batman.

1) He is ****ing nuts. He unhinged and borderline crazy and apparently finds peace by hanging upside down. Some people juggle geese.

2) He is ****ing nuts and after bedding Vicky (thought) he had no more interest in her.

He's doing arm exercises. What are you talking about?

I'm reasonably sure that asking why his CD player has a bat logo on it is considered nitpicking in most civilized societies - particularly when you're not asking why Batman has little bat logos on the bottoms of his boots.

Rubbish, it was just another one of Burton's weird way of being like "Oh look, he's a Bat!" You can try and convince yourself he's training or meditating or whatever, but he's balantantly hanging upside down like a Bat to look like a Bat. I love the film, but your lying to yourself if you say any different.

I'm not trying to convince myself of anything - of course it was put in there due to the bat resemblence (although this is a pretty simplistic way of describing it), but it's also clearly a form of excercise as well.

Jeezus.

Yeah I know. It's like Batman using his cape as wings to fly... LIKE AN ACTUAL BAT!!!!!! WHY ON THE UNIVERSE does he wants to look and fly like a bat if HE'S NOT A BAT!!!

On the other hand, Bruce Wayne is used to go out by nights as Batman. He has that nioght schedule. So it felt natural he couldn't sleep by night when he was with Vicki.

And instead of showing him doing some sit ups or push ups they showed him hanging down which might resemble a bat. Genius.

They're not trying to say he's a bat.

Yes. Where does a man who can get a batmobile, a bat-plane, a computerized boomerang and tons of technological devices ahead oh its time get a CD player!!!!

And btw, where did Dick Tracy get that watch with a TV screen??? Stupid, really. Dick Tracy is ruined for me now.

Another? which was the first one? Does Bruce Wayne have a natural radar in his head? Can he see in the dark? Does he have pointy ears?

The man was excersising and there was a reference to bats. It's not like they're trying to make him Man-Bat at all.

This is one of the funniest treads I've ever read. I need to go to the Mis.Batman Films forum more often.

Who cares? Its really not important at all.

I think with "TDK" coming out, 'Fans' are trying to find the smallest stupid things to try and pick on about the prievious series of films.

I think some fans might be a little jealous that 'Begins' didn't gross as much as "BATMAN" did..."TDK" could possibly do it, but I'm not so sure.

But personally, I STILL...to this DAY...fail to see why we need to complain about anything.

It's ALL Batman...and it's ALL good.

^ He's obviously NOT training, people. He's starting to metamorphosize himself into a giant bat and you're just in a bitter denial. Stop lying to yourselves. God, he's starting to grow hair on his back!

Yes, while the technology to transform music into digital bits was achieved somewhere in the 80's, the concept of adding a Batman symbol in a CD player is laughably decades into the future. I know Batman is a fictional character but damn, this was too far-fetched even for the 1990's. Character ruined!

:funny:

Ah yes, how lame Batman would get his logo branded on his cave's CD player. The fact that it is on his suit, boots, WHEELS to his car, inside his car at times, on a signal on top of Police Headquarters and on practically every gadget he has ever "made" or had is perfectly believable though.
