The Open Source Boob Project -- Thoughts?

Since I assume all of the people here would consider themselves in some way "geeks" and would go to conventions and such, I wonder what are your thoughts on this?

Personally, I think it was a bad idea and something I wouldn't do, but I wonder if there wouldn't be such hate towards this guy if he had simply asked for people's opinion about his "project" rather than simply saying "this is a good idea and I'm going to organize it.

Plus he does pretty much make himself look like the socially-awkward creepy geeks that makes the rest of us look bad.

I've got to go with your last comment, that whole entry is nuts.

We all reached out in the hallway, hands and fingers extended, to get a handful. And lo, we touched her breasts - taking turns to put our hands on the creamy tops exposed through the sheer top she wore, cupping our palms to touch the clothed swell underneath, exploring thoroughly but briefly lest we cross the line from 'touching" to "unwanted heavy petting."

We all reached out like zombies trying to break through a door to get to those breasts. And it wasn't getting any worse!

...and bras - bras were a big deal in how a boob felt -...

The first girl touched respectfully. And reported that they were glorious.

"My breasts," they asked shyly, having heard about the project. "Are they... are they good enough to be touched?"

For a moment, everything that was awkward about high school would fade away and you could just say what was on your mind. It was as though parts of me were being healed whenever I did it, and I touched at least fifteen sets of boobs at Penguicon.

How could anybody be insulted? It's great, especially since Penguicon is apparently a combined science fiction and Linux convention.

I live with a lot of little kids (siblings, not mine) and they never feel hesitant to feel up the boobs. I don't mind. I've never minded. I'm teaching them boundaries and the difference between my body and theirs and what hurts and what doesn't, but I'm also teaching them that boobs are fantastic!

Cliff Notes:

That essentially happened at a smaller con (Penguicon I think it's called) and a few guys want to try to extend this to bigger cons, his idea being that girls who request to have green buttons that they'll hand out can be asked if someone else can feel their breasts.

The problem I saw there was that the guy just instantly thought it was a good idea and didn't ask for other's opinion before trying to set up "larger operations and the LJ entry the originator wrote was written REALLY creepily.

This exploded on livejournal a couple of weeks ago. It's by far the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Not even getting into the objectification of women, this guy really shows his true colors in regards as to what he thinks about women in general. "Oh, some girls let me touch their boobs, it must be ok to do it then, why don't most women allow me to grope and fondle them?!"
