High on Fire. Take Black Sabbath, and mix with Motorhead, weed and whisky. Their last album "Blessed Black Wings" has a bit more metal in some of their songs, I hear elements of Celtic Frost and Slayer in a couple. The band was formed by Matt Pike after Sleep called it quits. High on Fire is a faster band than Sleep, but still in the Stoner/Doom area of metal

okay, I have a new PC and I'm DLing some nice stuff

Supermodel Twins?

coming right down

I'll tell you what I think of them

i need a favor from everyone....clickhere and on the right side there is a poll. vote for the band THE SIGHTS. they're a detroit band that im friends with, and a phenominal band at that....it'd probably be of great help if they won this poll.

under artist info you can even listen their song "im gonna live the life i sing about" and also view their video for "circus" (its not the best video, but its a great song...the song can also be found on the wedding crashers soundtrack). you an also view the video at their website....www.wearethesights.com

please vote, i'd really appreciate it and i know the band would too. thanks!

hmmm....tough....i'll break it down for you and let you choose:

THE HARD LESSONS: these guys' music runs a fair sized gamut. it'll range from soulful motown, to racous rock, to country rock, to soulful heartbreakers. but, it's all rock and roll and its all phenominal. plus, on some songs they male guitarist sings and on others the femal keyboardist sings...so its always switching up so you dont find yourself getting tired of the same thing track after track. its great...but makes it hard to stop listening to. check out the songs: i cant stand it, love gone cold (this song will break your heart), milk and sugar, that other girl.

THE SIGHTS: i dont know if theres a score in rock and roll, but if there is, the sights know it. strong ass kikcing rock and roll inspired by the 60's british invasion with a blues backbone to it and perhaps a hit of some ray charles mixed in just for good measure. check out the songs: i just got robbed, circus, frozen nose, nobody, backseat.

THE PAYBACKS: this is just straight up kick your ass rock and roll.

THE DIRTBOMBS: fun rock and roll with a classic motown base. the band uses 2 drummers, two bassists, and a guitar....great stuff. check out the tracks: chains of love, motor city baby, underdog, i cant stop thinking about it, im through with white girls

BLANCHE: old time somber bluegrass country (the band isnt old, they're pretty new...but thats what the music is styled after). suggested songs: another lost summer, jack on fire, hopeless waltz, do you trust me.

THE MUGGS: great blues rock and roll (their stuff may be harder to d/l right now...their debut albumisnt out for a couple of weeks)

JAWBONE: a one man blues band....you havent heard blues like this since...well, never. this is some serious down and dirty gritty blues! one man playing guitar, harmonica, bass drum, hi-hat, and singing....(his guitar amp is powered by a 12 volt car battery by the way...so he canplay anywhere)...suggested songs: if it's rock (it'll roll), 4-11-44, gasoline, hi-de-hi

check out the websites...im sure they do the bands more justice than i do...im not very good at talking about music intellectually...i just know whats good...its hard for me to explain why.

im obsessed with Bloc Party, i love Banquet, Helicopter, and This Modern Love, great songs

i also like Aqualung's songs Brighter Than Sunshine, Strange and Beautiful, and UR with DJ Tiesto

and Karen O's song Hello Tomorrow

Finally, another Bloc Party fan! :o

go listen to Naked City, if you think you've heard music that surprises you, this will totally throw you off your feet

it's jazz/grindcore/lounge/noise at it's best... skonky sax, dissonant guitars, inteligible screams, bursting drums and moody ambient all riled into songs that less than a minute

for some people it's just noise, but it takes a lot of skill to pull that noise off with style
