What would you call North Korea?
There is a difference between Socialism and Communism, even then I wouldn't really consider North Korea Communism. When I think of socialist Countries I think Sweden or France(ie countries that vote them in power)
See they aren't communist, they are Juche whatever the hell that is. Given how they choose their leaders you can say it's a borderline monarchyNorth Korea is a single-party state under a united front led by the Korean Workers' Party (KWP). The country's government follows the Juche ideology of self-reliance, initiated by the country's first President, Kim Il-sung. After his death, Kim Il-sung was declared the country's Eternal President. Juche became the official state ideology, replacing Marxism-Leninism, when the country adopted a new constitution in 1972. With the dissolution of the Soviet Union in December 1991, North Korea lost a major trading partner and strategic ally. Combined with a series of natural disasters, this led to the North Korean famine, which lasted from 1994 to 1998 and killed an estimated 800,000 to 3,500,000 people. North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il adopted Songun, or "military-first" policy in order to strengthen the country and its government. In 2009, references to Communism were systematically removed from the country's constitution and legal documents altogether.
http://www.diffen.com/difference/Communism_vs_SocialismNot really, they're the same thing. The reason why they became two separate terms was because of the socialist schism that occurred during the late 1800's/early 1900's where the "socialists" decided that Marx's vision of revolution wasn't going to happen and the best way to gain power was through democratic methods and allowing limited forms of private enterprise. The Communists were the true socialists who continued what Marx envisioned.
Sweden and France aren't socialist. They're more along the lines of social democracies that allow free enterprise while having mechanisms such as universal health care to take care of the people. True socialism is essentially what Lenin intended for the Soviet Union, Cuba, and North Korea. Nations with true command, state controlled, economies.
And while the leaders of communist states usually have a cult of personality, the Kims have taken it to a whole new level.
Worlds greatest golfer dies. Farewell Kim Jong Il
North Korean golfing legend (and oppressive dictator) Kim Jong Il passed away over the weekend. He was just 69 years old, but laid claim to golfing skills that would make greats like Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Walter Hagen weep with envy.
Back in 1994, the man set a record that is likely to stand forever. Playing his first round of golf on a regulation, PGA-style, 18-hole course, Kim Jong Il scored 11 holes-in-one while he carded a stunning 38 UNDER par. Seventeen bodyguards were on hand to witness and attest the score. Regarding the 11 holes-in-one on a single round, that feat will only be repeated on putt-putt golf courses as most regulation-sized courses typically have only four holes short enough to reasonably be considered candidates for scoring an ace.
Sadly, the golfing world outside of North Korea has yet to accept this round of golf as legitimate.
*sigh*

You are reading A LOT into that story. It clearly says the guy had serious mental illness.
I do think it's a stretch to say socialism wouldn't exist without Marx. Some socialistic practices were the norm before Marx started writing.
There's a reason why Communism usually ends the way it does, no matter where it starts. Humans suck, and a few despots will always try to take over.
Doesn't help that Marx was fundamentally wrong about human nature.
The flip side, libertarianism, is just as wrong and it's a bigger worry since many are touting it.
EDIT: I mean this for the US.
Oh please, like the D's and the R's know what to do to save America? As if, those fools have gotten us in 16 Trillion debt, loss of our civil liberties, a growing police state, and high taxes.
OH GOD DAMMIT...

WTF OBAMA...
P.S. What is this Strawman...you speak of, LH?
Considering O stated several times he would veto the originals I highly doubt he is going to sign an executive order doing any kind of cybersecurity. I call BS

The racially charged and at times angry speech undermines Obama’s carefully-crafted image as a leader eager to build bridges between ethnic groups. For nearly 40 minutes, using an accent he almost never adopts in public, Obama describes a racist, zero-sum society, in which the white majority profits by exploiting black America. The mostly black audience shouts in agreement. The effect is closer to an Al Sharpton rally than a conventional campaign event.
