Since the movie is now filming does anyone know if this movie is about a princess who kisses a frog and then he turns into a human (or better into a prince)???

Are you talking about the new Disney animated movie? I made a thread for that awhile ago.

Yes I was talking about the new disney movie sorry if you have already talked about it I didn´t saw it.
3 words.... it WILL SUCK!!!
I didn´t asked if it will suck or not and to be honest I hope not because it will be made from those who made Little Mermaid and Aladdin.

But nobody answered my question, I hope somebody can it.

Walt Disney Pictures has revealed this first photo of princess Tiana in the studio's traditionally-animated The Princess and the Frog, coming to theaters in 2009. The movie is written and directed by John Musker and Ron Clements and features the music of Randy Newman.

A musical set in the legendary birthplace of jazz -- New Orleans -- "The Princess and the Frog" will introduce the newest Disney princess, Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose), a young African-American girl living amid the charming elegance and grandeur of the fabled French Quarter. From the heart of Louisiana's mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells and Cajun charm at every turn.

She's so pretty.

Can we get this merged with the other thread?

I'm glad to see that Disney is still making hand-animated movies. But while I'm okay with them treading over familiar ground with this one, I want to see them go into some more un-charted territory in the near future. I'd like to think Disney has grown the balls to try and make a movie that's geared more towards adults and teens after the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, but only time will tell.

The New Orleans setting provides a lot of good possibilities

Good to see 2D Animation is till alive. Let's up this film doesn't make it extinct.

this one's been in production for a long time now. i remember hearing about it a few yrs back. i do miss a regular cartoon movie.

hopefully this film (and rapunzel) takes disney animation back to the greatness of the renaissance era (little mermaid, b&tb, aladdin, lion king, etc..)

Well, in other news, John Goodman and Keith David have been casted.

The animated musical doesn't open in theaters until Christmas Day 2009, but Walt Disney Pictures is already giving a sneak peek at the teaser trailer for The Princess and the Frog at the film's new official website!

Coming from Aladdin and The Little Mermaid writers/directors John Musker and Ron Clements, the film is voiced by Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, Jenifer Lewis, John Goodman and Bruno Campos. Composer Randy Newman is also back for the pic, which tells the most beautiful love story ever told... with frogs, voodoo, and a singing alligator.

In addition to the above teaser and the new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince teaser, the ComingSoon.net Trailers & Clips section has also been updated with links to a new clip from Tropic Thunder, a Red Band clip from Pineapple Express, a fifth TV spot for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the full trailer for Beverly Hills Chihuahua, the trailer for the comedy Sex Drive, a second trailer for Anna Faris' The House Bunny, the trailer for Oliver Stone's W., and more.

You can check out the new additions here!

Were do I begin...

Haha, glad to see we're back to classic 2D animation...it looks pretty good so far. Kinda silly, but it's nice to see those classic Disney facial expressions back with a veageance.

 It's an animated film.

This movie is a sorry attempt from Disney to try and set the record straight that they aren't racist. It was originally supposed to be about a girl living in Cali but then they changed it around a bit. This is said to be the last animated motion picture from Disney with the whole theatrical release crap. Pretty much the idea of making the Princess black because she "needs" to be black to stop racism is pretty racist.

Technically they could have done a number of African-folk tale like movies back in the day, but the one chance they had, they busted out with Lion King instead.

If that cajun fly is going to be a big part of the ad campaign, then I'm definitely not looking forward to late 2009.

the light bug is hillarious, hoping to see this, as it has been a while since a really good 2D film was released in theatres... hope it's good and brings 2D back to the big screen

Can't wait to see this. Nice to see Disney get back to traditional animation.

I'm actually kind of looking forward to this. Disney has been needing to go back to the traditional animation and fantasy fairytale setting for a long time.
